Tell me something good...

I really like the Portland area. Used to go there a lot, it had some really cool restaurants.
I spent part of my growing up there. The later part of my teen years. Then my family moved back to the mid coast area where one of my parents family lived. When I was 17 there my life was American graffiti for real. So many stories, lots of epic adventures. Someone once told me "portland is like a micro boston" in some ways maybe, but it's got it's own unique flavor. It's also tiny compared to Boston. I don't get to go there much anymore because it's like 100 something miles away from where I live in bangor. But I do go to Portland once or twice a year. All the places I lived are different there now, lots of gentrification. That's probably true for most of the country though, I probably only notice it more because it's a smaller city.

I used to go to Portland a lot. Used to go to Ogunquit Beach a lot as a kid. (Maybe my favorite place in the world as a kid.)

Used to go fishing in Pine Point Maine a lot in the seventies. But there was more partying than fishing going on.

Spent a lot of time in Hallowell, Maine, have a close friend there.

Damn, I miss Maine. Ayuh.

had a joint lock performed on me today, shoulder went crack hurt for a second, then..... my shoulder felt better than before class...... qinna for arthritis is apparently a good thing
Ain't it interesting how the line between hurting and healing can be so fine...

Today I get to start my exercise recovery process so that I can get back to training. I did a few stretches today and I can tell that it's not going to be a quick process to regain my flexibility.

Did my first workout since my knee injury yesterday
Warmup, bent presses, hand release pushups, ab wheel rollouts, kata and swings. It's gonna take a long time to build up to what I had before my accident, so I'm going to progress very slowly and conservatively.

Go man go!

Way to go you guys! I'm in a similar boat, on my way back to normal after my lumbar sprain back in August. Been a long, slow process, but I'm about to go to my third class this week (one advanced, two fundamentals) and my back feels real good!

Now if I could just get my confidence back, I can start moving normally again!

On duty today, I'm driving up the street, and notice a young girl and her grandfather. She's clearly struggling with a bike, and as I'm waiting to figure out whether they were trying to cross or continue, she very clearly hits her frustration point. I pulled over, and gave her a coupon for a free Slurpy I happen to carry around, and helped fit the bike to her a little better. Got her started off, and she was clearly much more comfortable. Last I saw, they were still riding several blocks later.

That's the reason I do my job.

I travel for work and was on an assignment in Maine for several months. Maine's natural beauty, slower pace and overall peaceful lifestyle was an amazing experience. New Hampshire and Vermont were also gorgeous. Maine's beaches were clean/well kept, crime and taxes were low too. Maine is definitely one of those places you have to see it to believe it.

I was able to resurrect my mouse from my old mac. It has a cable, but I don't care, because that means I don't have to charge it. It even has a little clitoris on the top for scrolling...

Yesterday when I did my 4 miles walking, I did 280 pushups along the walking trail. There are 7 benches on the trail. Every time I pass by a bench, I will do my leg stretching and 20 push up. When I return, I will do the same (7 x 20 x 2 = 280).

There are many people on the trail. None of those people ever think about doing pushups on the bench.

I had to read this twice because I thought it was a real mouse when I was skimming lol.
IT'S A MIRACLE! The mouse has risen!

I try to repeat what I did yesterday, I could only do 180 pushups today. May be 280 pushups every day is too much for me. Not sure I should just do 180 pushups daily or do 280 pushups ever other days.
