Tell me something good...

I try to repeat what I did yesterday, I could only do 180 pushups today. May be 280 pushups every day is too much for me. Not sure I should just do 180 pushups daily or do 280 pushups ever other days.
It may just take you longer to get that many in. More stops needed.

In my 4 miles walking/training, I also do

- 1376 punches,
- 232 kicks/leg skill,
- 80 footwork drills.

Include the 180 (or 280) pushups, warm up, and leg stretching, it takes me exactly 2 hours. I will be happy if I can keep doing this every day.

IT'S A MIRACLE! The mouse has risen!

They have over here.

We go through cycles. First it was fruit flies this year, had to suck them up with the vacuum cleaner every day for several weeks. Then it was ants, they were relentless but we beat them.

Then the mud wasps. Real sons O beeches. Then centipedes, oh, how I hate centipedes.

Then yesterday morning, probably as a holiday preview, mice. They’re under the house all of a sudden. But their days are numbered.

Farmland in the tropics can be a real pain.

But on a positive note, cane spiders haven’t shown up since we got the dog, going on four years now. She ate a few as a youngster. I guess they got the message

Super hot today (37°C), so we spent most the class doing push hands. LOVE it. That is aaafter me putting the guys through their paces with a "warmup".

Also have been asked if I want to do an instructor's accreditation course now that I'm 1st dan so I can help out and teach more on my own without supervision, so that's awesome.

And helped to break up a fight happening on the tram today. Young kids targeting another young fellow minding his own business. Few punches were thrown but managed to settle things down so nothing further escalated. Thankful someone else jumped in to help as well.

Also went to one of my very first instructor's grading to show support (Kyokushin grading to yondan). He did exceptionally well in this heat, can't fathom how he did the 40 rounds of kumite at the end. But always such an inspiring thing to see, and I get emotional every single time I watch one. Something really special happens in them.. it is truly and utterly phenomenal, and a testament to the human spirit.

All in the one day. Big day :)

You probably can. It's just going to take 2 hours and 30 mins

Apple pie...... apple pie is something good..... now all I have to do is convince Mrs Xue to make another one :D
So is peach pie... :)

Spent today "playing hookie" from work. Started taking the Scout troop to a forge and making knives out of horseshoes, then spent the afternoon working with Cubs on woodworking.

Because I have nothing better to say. I hope it was this horseshoe and that it was a throwing knife with razor sharp edges:)

Try the same routine on the 3rd days. My body didn't want to do, but my mind forces my body to do. Feel great afterward.

So in being silly. I got curious. Turns out that it's a real thing
The tekkō (鉄甲, lit. "iron", "armor"), are weaponized stirrups and horseshoes which originated in Okinawa, Japan, and they fall into the category of "fist-load weapons".

I don't expect anyone to believe me, but one of the best things you can do for your upper body is a single set of pushups to failure every day. Some call it HFT for high frequency training, but I just call it my daily pushups. I've started doing them on my knuckles and it seems to make them harder.

Better yet, do it three times a day - morning, noon and night.

You are still young, and you don't have to worry about laziness. One day when MA training is the only thing that can make you feel good, you will think differently.
I always have a slow come back after serious injuries because I get used to not doing anything. To be honest, I've come to the conclusion that I probably need to start teaching Jow Ga again. I think teaching gives me a sense to get back to something. I need to set some goals as well. Right now I don't have any Kung Fu goals. I was in a bad car accident about 2 months ago. I had 8 herniated discs with the worst one being in my neck which ruptured and tore according to the MRI. This year has been rough for me.

I went on the cruise, when I got home I had Covid that took me out for a month, then a car accident and a month after the first car accident I was in another. Neither were my fault. I got rear ended on the first one and was a passenger on the second one, when a car ran the red light.

So I'm just eating healthy and trying to do too much. I enjoy doing clinch work, but I'm going to take maybe a year or two off from having someone pull on the back of my neck. So I'll just work on some other things that I often neglect until I can get back into action.

Life is not perfect. My SC teacher passed away at my age and he was in much better shape than I'm. When my SC teacher lived in my house, he didn't train as hard as I do today. At this point of time, to find something I like to train is important.
