In class some of the people were talking about accupunture. How anyone can sit so happy and calm while someone is stabbing you all over with thin needles goes beyond my comprehension.

I could almost see it now... id be laying there and some new guy, still new to performing acupuncture on people and I do something stupid, freak out and move, the needle slips and he calls the manager in "uhhh, sir... we have a situation here"

A well trained acupuncturist also knows tuina and all the good....and bad pressure points...so you might want to be careful with the whole "Freakout move" thing....basically avoid all that are trained TCM docs trained in Chinese TCM universities...

Typo? Seems like you're saying avoid Traditional Chinese Medicine docs who were actually trained in China?

Oh good grief, TV remote broke, and I woke up to some TV preacher preying on the stupid: Sow the SEED! DO NOT WAIT!!!!
Send me 1000 dollars and IF YOU BELIEVE you will get a miracle!!

hat jackass needs to be in JAIL!! That con artist!
Of course, it comes with all the disclaimers: If you don't get the miracle you paid for, you just don't believe enough!
Oh, and you can't give that money to your own church, you gotta give it to the 'anointed one' on TV.....:wtf:

I don't have it in me to start a 'church'
I could be sitting pretty, there are so many gullible people living here around me!

You must be talking about mike murdock, he talks about "planting seeds" I seen that on tv before...

If my understanding is correct it sounds like your interested in buying a seed but just dont know it. Its clearly your subconscious telling you buy buy buy. :D

No I am not saying avoid them, they are who you should look for. If you want an acupuncture treatment that is very good, that is backed up by a heck of a lot of training, they are who you should seek out.

However, I am saying (based on Donald's post) avoid them if you are going to freak out and try and be funny and cause problems, it could hurt you, basically don't mess with them.

If you are nervous and if you freak out because of anxiety or panic they will handle it rather professionally and the needle will not slip, even on a newly minted ones. You would be amazed at how incredibly accurate they are.

Traditional Chinese Medicine folk trained in Universities is China are Doctors in China and actually are required to take more credits in their undergrad that most of us in the US are required to take in undergrad + grad. They are also required to take some western medicine courses as well. I get acupuncture from such a person. Additionally this person also worked in a hospital in China in the TCM department and was acting head of acupuncture department when they left China. Acupuncture is very good as is her Tuina.

But I will admit, when we were dating (she is my wife now) we were watching Jet Li's kiss of the dragon. and in the end when he kills the guy with a needle in the back of the neck, she immediately said "That is not how that works". Which lead me to the question, how does it work.? Her response "it will make you very sick". It was at that point I decided that I best behave :D

Also I trained push hands with Yang Jwing Ming years ago and I was doing push hands with Dr Yang. He took me out by touching pressure points in opposite sides of my elbow. I stupidly told my taiji sifu about this...and he said you mean right here, and promptly did it to me again. Now me not being real quick on the up take told my girlfriend, now wife, about it. She promptly reach up grabbed my elbow and said "you mean like this" and she took me out too.

That is my point, they are well trained and who you want if you need treatment, but don't mess with them for kicks, it could hurt you

That's what I figured you meant...

And if you're going to freak out and play games with ANY medical professional... go bother someone else, don't waste their time. That's not the same as being anxious/nervous/etc. and legitimately stress out -- the docs (whatever type) will handle that with appropriate professional regard and sympathy.

That was awesome, I fell over laughing. Go ask them about that point on your elbow again!

As for Chinese medicine - I trust them more than conventional medicine men.

back when I worked in a hospital there was a patient with a facture arm who was combative, vulgar and verbally abusive. He was calling the nurses all sorts of horrible names, insulting the doctor, other patients and basically anyone he could think of. And he was screaming all of this as loud as he could. The MD (orthopedist) told everyone to get out of the room. So doctor orders it, we all leave.... the guy on security that night stood outside the door just to be there incase the doc needed back up.

The guy let off with a tirade of insults at the doc, his family and his ancestors and then tried to hit the doc with his good arm. Doc ducked, stood up, hit the guy up the side of the head with his elbow and knocked him over. What I found amazing was in what I was told.. the Doc was putting the cast on the other guys arm, kept both hand on the arm he was working on, never stopped working, never missed a beat, knock the guy out and worked right though.

Nope, don't mess with doctors.

Hey, I'm slow, not crazy :D

Woke up this morning and watched an American Girl movie with my youngest. Had no idea that being a young girl was so full of drama. Sage's best friend Tienna found a new best friend, and Sage got jealous. And they all needed to come together to raise $5000 in order to save the art program at the school.

Yiu will all be pleased to know that everything worked out in the end.
