Unless I dare to show the full chemical name for Titin, but no matter who posts that... Everyone would lose.

You can't believe everything you read on the internet.

Which goes on to say,

"The identity of the longest word in English depends upon the definition of what constitutes a word in the English language, as well as...'

I don't want to bore you with the long drawn out definition, so I'll para phrase:
...what Gemini is willing to allow.

Fear me!

It's called "A Students Guide to Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan" and is available from blurb.com. Don't expect too much. It was written as an in-house textbook, rather than for general consumption, and focuses specifically on how we do things in our school. So you'll no doubt find plenty of things you won't like, like longer, wider stances.

I bought both 1st and 2nd editions in hardcover dust cover format. I am not buying it with the intention of being critical, I just want every single kma book ever published, including yours. Moo Duk Kwan specific books are hard to find, not that many, so whenever I can add to that bookcase,I take advantage of the opportunity. Thanks for letting us know about it. Let me know if and when you publish the 3rd edition. I notice that the 2nd edition is much thicker than the 1st edition.

Feel free to be critical. I am fully aware that we do some things differently. A couple examples: we begin Palgwe Sa Jang with a close stance (moa seogi) and small hinge block (jaegun doltzeogi), and Palgwe Chil jang with a step backwards rather than forward. I am also aware of other differences. Since it is a textbook, I presented the material in the way it is performed in this system. If you notice other changes, I'd enjoy hearing about them.

For my own edification, I like to learn the original as well as current forms, and on my own I do practice both versions. Personally, I think that if our Kwan Jang wishes to make changes, then that is his prerogative. I do hope that someday I will have the opportunity to ask him about the thinking behind each of the changes.

The difference in thickness is related to the material covered. The 1st edition includes some basic information (i.e. how to tie the belt), Kicho 1, Palgwe 1-8 and Koryo. That is our minimum requirement for 1st Dan. The 2nd edition includes everything from the 1st edition and adds more general information, specific testing requirements for each rank, Kicho 2 & 3, Taegeuk 1-8, Keumgang and Taebaek. All material required for 3rd Dan (Moo Duk Kwan) or 4th Dan (Kukkiwon). I considered adding the rest of the yudanja forms, as well as Hanryu and Bigak, but decided that (A) the book would be too thick and (B) there is no real need to yet another resource for those forms. As you said, there are few resources for MDK and Palgwe material and none of the available resources cover the forms exactly as we perform them.

I do not think a 3rd edition is likely. The only future addition is, as I mentioned, a DVD to accompany the book. I think video is a far superior method for demonstrating forms, for the obvious reasons.

Thinking back, it seems clear to me that we have Dick Van Dyke to blame for the current trend of wearing pants below the butt.
