I agree with Gran, it's not very nice when you feel isolated in your own country by people deliberately using a language they think you don't understand.

Back when I could speak Welsh quite fluently, on occasion, when out and about with my Welsh girlfriend, we would run into a situation where, say, staff at an Indian corner shop would speak to each other in Hindi or Punjabi and would quite clearly be talking about us (you can tell even if you don't understand the words). So we would talk about them to each other in Welsh and try to make our transactions in Welsh :D. Fifty percent of the time that actually did the trick and they'd switch back to English (because most people are not really the arses they sometimes come across as).

Well since it is not Monday yet

Das war aber nicht sehr nett von Ihnen....

Was bedeutet das :D

Und ich stimme mit Ihnen

I use to live in a town that had the largest hispanic popualtion in NYS outside of NYC and I was at a restaraunt once where there were 3 young men who showed up and started asking for everything in Spanish, basically they were young guys out having what they thought was fun in thier own way at the expense of others, the waitress continued to say I don’t understand you and they kept ordering in Spanish....I was standing next to them and I started looking at them and they all stopped talking to the waitress in Spanish and stopped laughing and looked at me...I said „Was bedeutet das“

And they started ordering in English

However this is not saying that I have anything against people speaking a foreign language in the USA, I live in a Bi-lingual household and one person in my home speaks no English at all

You know I enjoy hearing other languages even when I do not understand them. If we are out on the strip I might here German, Spanish, Farsi, Hindi, etc. Really it is pretty cool! I like that we are a great melting pot! I like to hear other peoples language and how it sounds and I try to understand what I can and learn more. ;)

Now back to beer! I had some 33 the other night and it was great!

Let me guess--I'll know it's you because you're the hot nurse?

No, that would be Sue.
I'll be the big bald guy with the needles and catheter... Chocolate ice cream would make me forget to use them, of course.

But remember... ice cream can make me forget about the foley catheter and needles. It's very important, even crucial, that you bring ice cream. Double chocolate will be fine. :)

I appreciate your willingness to perform medical services on me without asking about my insurance status! Another Obamacare benefit?

Nope. I never ask anybody about insurance. Makes not the slightest bit of difference to me.

Ice cream, on the other hand, does make a difference.

I don't like needles!
Butting in, "Obviously you don't like chocolate ice cream either, or, you're just a hoarder". And, butting out. :)

OK, that's it. I'm getting a bigger foley cath AND bigger needles...
