That's 100% fair, I'm not going to discuss it except wishing everyone all the best with what happens. And I personally separate one's political views from their identity and who I see them as. I think that's half (well, more than half) the trouble and why it's so divisive, is we create an identity out of it and also see others as "being" that political view rather than simply having it. It's funny how we're always taught to avoid talking politics, religion etc, instead of being taught how to discuss it civilly.

I mean, to some degree our views do reflect something within us of course, but it ain't everything, and I'd say barely a sliver of what I look at, which is the whole human being and looking at their heart.

Hoping you stick around brother

Folks, I am so sick and tired of politics and extremism, complaining and whining from both sides of the aisle...if this is what MT is going to get into now for awhile...... I see you all later when it calms down...Later y'all
Good heavens! You are a delicate flower 🥀🙄

There is a reason that MartialTalk does not permit political discussion. Those of us around in 2008 how heated things got, that led to the shutdown of The Study. We're not going down that road again. If you missed the Administrative Announcement earlier -- see it here:

Alright alright let's move on. Lighten things up!

I just genuinely hope that the president turns out to be far better than I expect. The USA is a great country and it deserves to be run with compassion, integrity and honesty. That's the final thing I will say on the subject, I promise.

Most people have no need to attend a dedicated training facility purely for health and fitness. Mess about with some dumbbells, do some pushups and go for a run a few times and you've basically covered all your bases and you can spend money on things you actually want, like martial arts lessons and cake

I’m never eating out again. It’s not something we Brits do much, maybe twice a month if that so it’s a treat when we do.

Last week in Glastonbury, I went out for a ‘Halloween dinner’ in an Italian restaurant before the ‘Zombie Walk’ up the high street. My friend has coeliac disease so warned the staff and ordered accordingly. She was ill all night so they’d clearly included gluten somewhere in her food.

On Monday I had a mediocre ‘celebratory meal’ in an Italian restaurant…5/10 would be generous. The waitress then tempted me with my favourite dessert, profiteroles…I rarely have desserts…and returned a few minutes later saying they only had one profiterole left …”would I like it with two scoops of ice cream?” I hate ice cream. I came home without dessert.

Lunch today in a local cafe. It was busy, I ordered and waited and waited and waited seeing other people being served who came in after me. After 45minutes I asked if they’d forgotten me? “Oh sorry! Did you order the quiche? I think it went to the wrong table. We don’t have any left now!” Refund please. Now I’m eating a sandwich at home.

Since lockdown, I’ve found the food and service I receive when I’m eating out consistently disappointing. I know the industry is supposedly struggling but it’s been two years now. I think I’ll save my money in future and just eat at home.

I find the actual donning of my training gear, going to the gym, seeing all the usual crowd etc actually encourages me to train and I’ve consistently being training two or three times a week, for 3-4 hours, for three years now. I find that ‘push’ is absent when training at home.

Every group of 'tough guys' needs a pet girl. It's not patronising, we're just genuinely pleased that a woman would want to train with us. And if anybody were to touch our dear little Samantha or Stacey in a way she didn't like, he's going to have bigger problems than the law.

Whenever a vaguely normal-looking woman attends an Iaido seminar in the U.K., the teachers are ‘all over them’ like sleazy flies! 🙄

Yeah I've always just trained at home with my own equipment (that's lasted for like 15-20 years so far!). Once it became habit for me it just became weird if I didn't train haha
