You know, since putting the 3 amoebas on ignore, i have seen fewer posts but MT has been a much nicer place.... I may take them off ignore next month to see how much more annoying it is and depending on that they may or may not take up permanent residence on said list

I'm teaching again....my own students, not my shifu's, last time I officially taught my own students was with my first sifu about 15 to 20 years ago..... and you know what, I don't know if I want to..... frankly I found myself thinking I could be more productive training at home

got my errands done today and had time to drive to mom's place and mowed
her lawn and watered the plants for her..finishing my laundry now...kind of a
quiet, productive day..

Sent from an old fashioned 300 baud acoustic modem by whistling into the handset. Not TapaTalk. Really.

I have a couple of students that wanted to enrich their studies by seeing what some older types of training was like so tonight (providing everyone shows up) we are having a 60's -70's type of training, including bare knuckle ( no pads of any kind) fighting. I admit to missing this type of training but hope everyone know a little control.

I am guessing they have no idea what they were asking for (insert evil grin here) ..... and the may, or may not regret it.

I remember jujutsu in the early 70s and as much as I miss that type of training (no gloves, no pads, no mats) I don't think I would let my kids do it

I'm thinking this would be a good discussion, however I am also thinking that 1 or all of the 3 amoebas would show up, act like arrogant idiots, call for, and whine about, YouTube proof, tell us all how they know better than everyone else because of their “alleged” less than a decade’s worth of training (if that), and add to that their extensive research of 1 maybe two styles, that the old ways of training was strictly for sissies and it would never be able to handle any of the stuff out there today……. Yup….we all know how much of a sissy Masutatsu Oyama was right

If they don't know control going in, they will know it going out.....

I hope you will have icepacks handy?
I hear 1part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water works like a charm....

Practice was fun ( for me :D ), actually everyone had a great time. No one got hurt, no blood was shed, but there where a few bruises . No egos where hurt because these guys want to learn and they respect each other and they realize if you get hit you most likely did not block. All that took part want to do it once a month without pads.
We also did some bladed weapons VS open hand training but the blade was dull and hand no real point, this too we shall do once a month.
