While I don't relish a run in with the originator of the Biting thread.... a Judicial Restraining Order does protect against the stupid, the fainthearted, the blow hards, those with something to lose by being arrested....
I would never advocate it as the sole means of defense or precaution, any more than I would advocate just a green belt in kenpo. You need to defend in depth, especially given that we know little about the bad guy.
