The person being beaten and chased by a group of people (and stabbed) also appears to have been involved with a stabbing a couple of blocks away. Violence can come to you even if minding the 4 S's (Stupid places, stupid things, stupid people, stupid times Farman oft used quote) In the video shown, multiple angles of the same event, which as a witness a person would only be able to 'see' a single angle. The confusion, fear, and excitement is evident in the bystanders.

Some simple lessons perhaps,
Movement can reduce the contact but is hard to maintain.
Running to a crowd produces witnesses but not always security or safety
Running into tight spaces has many benefits if trained but it greatly reduces maneuvering room
it might be difficult to access who is the victim and who is the aggressor
Violence can come running towards you any time of day or night.
A stab wound does not always end the fight.
Aggression often comes and is displayed in phases and waves.
Improvised weapons abound yet are not often seen or used.
