Highkick has the more accurate idea where some people will kill you just cause you breathed on them a little too hard. Which is baffling to me.
Mostly laugh, or at least chuckle. Crime is down, but it still gets a lot of press. Which gives the impression that crime is up. And things like road rage shootings get tons of attention.
That's the other thing, statistically violent crime is down over all and we live in probably the most peaceful time in human history, yet people like to act like everyone is trying to kill them. Personally I thought it was because most people had some goddamn sense and then I see nonsense like this.

If you were a child the 80's, all the PSA's had you convinced that there were adults cruising everywhere looking for a child to snatch up. This was in the aftermath of Adam Walsh and Steven Staynor.
Moral panic is nothing new. One thing I can't stand hearing is anything along the lines of "people are crazy these days." I'm fairly certain that the percentage of "crazy" in the human population has always been the same, and that things were actually worse in the past due to continuous improvements in behavioral health treatment.

Running into someone unhinged isn’t likely for people that aren’t out and about. Running into someone unhinged isn’t something that happens every day.
But the unhinged are out there. For those unlucky enough to be around them, or run into them, or respond to them as the good guys called in to quell the situation, it can be tricky.
When you work in Law Enforcement, when the unhinged go off, the public doesn’t call Ghostbusters, they call you. Depending on where you’re policing, it happens every day and you or your coworkers, the guys you laugh and joke with in the locker room, are suddenly in odd situations. Some of those situations can be frightening. If you do it long enough, it’s just another day at work.
We are an odd species.
But the unhinged are out there. For those unlucky enough to be around them, or run into them, or respond to them as the good guys called in to quell the situation, it can be tricky.

Is crime down in the USA? Yes, it certainly is. However, with regard to road rage shootings? Up dramatically.

But the trend is up, not down. And the fact remains that a person with poor impulse control or anger management issues who has a gun is more dangerous that the same person who doesn't have one.

Speaking just about driving, if folks would get past their misguided sense of road justice, using their cars to block lanes, slow speeders down, or keep people from even the appearance of cutting a line, we would all be safer on the roads. It’s juvenile.
Don’t get me wrong. Guys who split lanes on their bikes (where it isn’t legal like here), speed, weave in busy traffic, cut lanes, camp in the left lane, etc. they are d-bags. But when you retaliate and drive aggressively in response, you are as much the problem as them.
Just be friendly, even when people aren’t friendly to you. Driving isn’t a competition. No good comes from getting worked up behind the wheel. You end up pissed off. The other guy is also probably pissed off. You’re both telling a version of the story where the other person is the a-hole. And sometimes, rare as it may be, someone will be seriously hurt or killed.
