Could it happen? I aver it already has several times with miniscule differences. There are people in this world who don't need a reason to pop a cap.https://www.reddit.com/r/martialarts/s/TUj1TMNArv
There is no way something like this could realistically happen right? Just running into someone so unhinged that calling them out for cutting you off is enough to make them wanna gun you down? Like seriously 0-100. Forget jail someone like that needs to be executed.

See this is the key difference as fucked up as it is you can at least follow the line of logic and understand why they did it.CIA headquarters shooting - Wikipedia

Mostly laugh, or at least chuckle. Crime is down, but it still gets a lot of press. Which gives the impression that crime is up. And things like road rage shootings get tons of attention.Okay, is now the time to remind everyone that violent crime is down? The way you guys are talking about popping caps… I don’t know whether to laugh or be concerned.
That's the other thing, statistically violent crime is down over all and we live in probably the most peaceful time in human history, yet people like to act like everyone is trying to kill them. Personally I thought it was because most people had some goddamn sense and then I see nonsense like this.Okay, is now the time to remind everyone that violent crime is down? If you were a child the 80's, all the PSA's had you convinced that there were adults cruising everywhere looking for a child to snatch up. This was in the aftermath of Adam Walsh and Steven Staynor. That's the other thing, statistically violent crime is down over all and we live in probably the most peaceful time in human history, yet people like to act like everyone is trying to kill them. If someone “fingers” you? Holy colloquialism Batman! You are going to shoot them with your “urine filled pistol”? Good grief! This is Friendly MT!If someone fingered me without my permission, I would definitely shoot them with a urine-filled water pistol.
The number of young men who abuse steroids, making the ‘red mist’ descend, is very common and I can see that happening although the lack of firearms in Europe means it is unlikely to result in death.
And…there it is…Oh, I left my last gym because of poor cleanliness and if I had a urine-filled water pistol, I’d’ve soaked the belligerent cleaner who insisted she’d cleaned the place even though the grass and mud on the floor suggested otherwise .
That’s pretty unlikely now I know I’ve irritated you
Said the kettle…Best to ignore him when he’s stirring the pot. He calms down eventually.
See what I did there?Best to ignore him when he’s stirring the pot. He calms down eventually.
And that the goddamn truth. Capable of great good and great insanity.Running into someone unhinged isn’t likely for people that aren’t out and about. Running into someone unhinged isn’t something that happens every day.
But the unhinged are out there. For those unlucky enough to be around them, or run into them, or respond to them as the good guys called in to quell the situation, it can be tricky.
When you work in Law Enforcement, when the unhinged go off, the public doesn’t call Ghostbusters, they call you. Depending on where you’re policing, it happens every day and you or your coworkers, the guys you laugh and joke with in the locker room, are suddenly in odd situations. Some of those situations can be frightening. If you do it long enough, it’s just another day at work.
We are an odd species.
ha. Said the other kettle.Said the kettle…
Why road rage specifically?!Is crime down in the USA? Yes, it certainly is. However, with regard to road rage shootings? Up dramatically.
Road Rage Shootings Have Surged Over the Past Decade
Road rage shootings are on the rise across the United States as drivers increasingly turn to firearms to vent their frustrations — with often tragic consequences. Between 2014 and 2023, the number of people shot in road rage incidents surged more than 400 percent, from 92 to 481, according to a...www.thetrace.org
"Someone was shot in a road rage incident on average every 18 hours in 2023, up from once every four days in 2014."
Now, to be clear, road rage shooting are still rare in a nation of over 300 million people. In my metro area, Detroit, there were 63 incidents between 2014 and 2023. That's not a lot for nearly a decade.
But the trend is up, not down. And the fact remains that a person with poor impulse control or anger management issues who has a gun is more dangerous that the same person who doesn't have one.
Touche’ha. Said the other kettle.
good point. I tend to think a lot of road rage is like a lot of bar fights. Very few bar fights are truly random. Is crime down in the USA? Yes, it certainly is. However, with regard to road rage shootings? Up dramatically.
