Can it be done? Oh wait, I saw people do it at work--with two boards, right?

I've seen it done that way as well ... but I have a four-way chess game we've yet to try. Curious about both ... will be breaking out the four-way board next weekend. I wonder if my daughter remembers how to play with two boards ....

It depends on what type their talking about. if it's 'bugs' then yes, but needs two boards. Its a team game, but both boards move independently from each other. Its actually quite popular, did it all the time in my hs chess club. theres another less popular type with a special made board where everyone plays on that board and the two teams have to try to checkmate both members of the opposing team at the same time. IMHO, its a lot less fun then bugs

Post a pic of the board?

I hope that worked. Posted via fone.

It did. Weird--let me know how it goes! All pieces move as usual? Kings can be captured, not just checkmated? If you lose your king do all your pieces vanish immediately?

You gotta favour bears to beat dolphins. Stands to reason.
Bears v Lions now that would be something, depending on what sort of bears.
Koalas would be fecked but a team of grizzlies.....

You can play as four opponents; once a player is mated, s/he removes all his/her pieces from the board and play amongst the remaining three resumes and so on until final victory.

Another way is teams of two. Partners sit next to each other instead of across from each other. They must play and strategize individually, however - collaboration is prohibited as is moving anyone's piece but your own. Again, once a player is mated their pieces must be removed and play amongst the remaining resumes, etc.

The rules prohibit three versus one. I've always been a rebel.
