The question is how much power do you need?

There's only one answer to that: MORE! :p

Any more than 400 or so becomes useless pretty fast for anything but drag racing.

Um, drag racing is what you brought up, and therefore what we were talking about... :)

The fastest production sedan ever on the Nurburgring is a 4 cylinder Subaru. Chassis technology is really more important, my Impreza has adjustable subframes available so I can change the entire characteristic of the car

Sedan? SEDAN??? Who wants to drive a SEDAN?? :barf:

So what was the fastest minvan?

If I was going to build my ideal racecar two years ago, before Targa NL had a rule change, it'd have been a C4 Corvette because of the lenience that used to be given to older cars and because the C4 still isn't really outdated. Now that it's a more even footing there isn't anything to consider except a Subaru STI. It's been around for 20 years, yes but it was designed by a third party to be the top car in the WRC.

Remember:
The Vette makes them Wet.

The STI makes them dry? The STI is like a stye? The STI, might as well die?

And you DO know that the diagnosis of STD has officially been replaced with that of STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) don't you? I'm just saying...

I don't need cars to pick up women ;)

On another note, socialized healthcare SUCKS!

You've given up on the idea, eh?

Besides, who said anything about picking them up? I'm married. To an incredible hotty. (And no, she's not reading over my shoulder.)

Good luck with your STI.

Most can be cured with the right treatments.

Lol...if it was possible to get treatment for anything here... ;)

Muscle cars do have more curb appeal, but you take the right tool for the job.

I bought my wife a camera. She shows me the pictures, does that count for anything?? :)

Needed a new engine, after I spun a bearing (two, actually...). I didn't want to build another engine for it, because while it was a great car, I have always thought of the Corvette as THE car. So I sold it to a buddy who is putting a new 383 in it, and started hunting. Found the Vette, so here we go...

I'm not planning to build another 700HP monster engine though. I'm wanting to keep this one for the twisties. So bolt ons for the engine (although, really, a blower just bolts on, right?). Probably just the SLP exhaust along with what's already done. Beyond that I'll probably limit it to suspension tweaks.
Yep. Blowers bolt on easily and most guys I know who run the twisties have them. Twin screws are real popular for the low end torque. Best part is you can put 'em on a stock bottom end vette and have real power without breaking the bank. I'm more of an F body guy, but the allure of a vette is not too hard to imagine. Good luck with the new toy and lets see some pics when it's done!

Lol...I could do it the easy way and just buy a V8 I guess. The 7M will hold 6-ish with some work which should do 11's with some competent driving.

What year is your mustang? My buddy has a 78 Mustang II with a built 351
V8 always makes life easier..as long as you can afford the gas. lol. I do love Supras though! They frame up beautifully in my rear view haha! j/k! I have a 68 I just restored that I'm selling and the one I'm talking about is a supercharged '02. If your friend stuffed a 351 in a ghia, what'd he do with the front seats? :uhyeah:

....you want a good burger, go to Fuddruckers! :)
They're pretty good. I used to go there when I worked in the city but they don't have one here I know of. For a sit down place the family prefers Red Robin. Because the half pound Whiskey River burger isn't fattening enough, I got addicted to their bottomless steak fries with Ranch dressing. yummm. :)

It fits, but barely. The front part of the frame had to be redesigned a little, mounting points for the front suspension relocated, etc.

I like Fuddruckers even better than 5 Guys but am never near one--the Buffalo locations were my last decent shot at getting some. At least we have 5 Guys here in Colorado Springs.
