Testing (squared)

Do you require people testing to verbally explain the techniques? Very informative for both sides.

Probably not. For two reasons:
  1. Verbal explanations cannot be done concurrently. These would have to be tested one at a time, instead of the group demonstrating at once. In a group of 10 people, it would take 5x as long to do verbal explanations than demonstrations. (10 people talking one at a time vs. 5 people demonstrating at once).
  2. In addition to the time requirements, this would have the added issue of the students being able to hear the answers that came before. For example, if Alice explains a V-Lock, then Billy heard Alice's explanation, and Charlie heard both of theirs. I could ask each student different questions, but now I can only quiz each student on 1/10th of the material (in a 10-person class). Or I could do private tests, which would become a time sink.
