Ha, cool. That's pretty dang neat. Yeah, one of my instructors was in a knife fight before he was in ATA TKD. He was in Tang Soo Do, 2nd degree. He was walking out of a casino boat onto the dock and some guy came up behind him and put a knife to his throat. My instructor got cut on the chin, but didn't get cut vitally, threw the guy over his back, and beat the crap out of him.
THe only way to ultimately teach knife attacks is practice and also experience. I know certification and all, but that's only half of it.
Our Grappling is about the same, only we've gone a bit intense in some ways. I used to go to private classes, no fee, but me, some of my instructors, and a few classmates would grapple for 1-2 hrs Fridays nights after the place cleard out. Pretty awesome, just us. Maybe 3-5 people. Really fun. plenty of practice. I'm still amateur. I took Judo for a year when I was younger, but stopped after a while. Some of it stuck with me, but I still need ALOT of practice. But I enjoy a good grappling class. We substitute it sometimes for Sparring, too.
I like hearing about other schools and how they do things. cool.
