Online gaming…. And here I am being all old, getting ready to retire from a career in IT, and considering throwing out every electronic device I have an even buying and old jeep to get rid of all that driver assist junk…. If only Mrs Xue would let me do it

I mostly play board games online. I don't usually have people to play backgammon with so I have to either vs bots or people online. I also have an Xbox haha. I do way too much screen time so I get what you mean. I have an uncle who's Job he works from a computer 8 hrs a day some days more like 10 or 12hrs. I visited him and asked what he does when not working for fun. You know what he said? Binge watching shows and playing animal crossing on his tablet lol 😆

Had to place my mother in a nursing home today
It can be a tough decision -- but often it's for the best. They can provide full time care that even with the best efforts and intentions at home often can't be done. My mother-in-law is much better off in her nursing home than she was on her own.

As is my mother, I know this, but it was still a hard decision.

Thank you

Well, I'm old and boring...these days, when I am not working, I do work around the house, train, exercise and listed to classical music....

I'll be honest, when I decided I was going to quit drinking I wasn't anticipating going down a dirt track in an old landrover with my dad and my uncle two days later going to buy cider from a guy in a tent. Things like that can really throw a spanner in the works.

uh oh...... I just realized...Its....

FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!!!!

Received confirmation tonight for something I suspected, but didn't have any proof of - the weekly employee surveys we fill out are not anonymous. At a work event, my team lead shared that he was concerned as one of my coworkers put down that he was feeling "poor" and "dissatisfied" with work lately, and he was concerned/asked me if I knew what was up.

Team lead is coming from a place of genuine concern, and already knows what the issue is/has put his neck on the line fighting for us on this. The coworker in question has also expressed his issues to me, so it's not like any new information was shared. But this lets me know that if I write anything negative about the company in the comments, the higher ups will know exactly who it was. Side note: I haven't filled out those sheets in months, because of my suspicions on this.

I just think the world would be a nicer place if, at the point in the party where recreational chemicals are usually produced, we just cuddled some guinea pigs or did some colouring instead
