Knee update
They put you on a reclining cycle to get flexibility and range of motion back. I have been working on this for 3 weeks
Pedal forwards as far as you can go, reverse and go the other way as far as you can go
I have not made any full revolutions..until

In an 8 minute routine, the number of full revolutions

August 25 I finally got 1 full revolution going backwards
August 26 I got 8 going backward
August 27 I got 16 going backward
August 28 (today) I got 42 going backwards and 33 forwards
Thanks for the update. On a personal note I held off as long as possible but finally went to the doctor to begin the knee replacement process. I wish you well on your rehab and recovery....

Good luck. I am finding everyone is different, some vastly different when it comes to recovery. Some are a few weeks, others (apparently me going into my 12th week) can be a few months. And one person I talked with had both knees done, at different times, and one knee took about a week the other took 6 months. This is probably why I was told 6 to 10 weeks to get back to semi normal 6 to 12 months to recover

And according to the doc, I have one more knee to go.

But most I talked to are very happy they got it done.

This is huge, brother, Xue. I spent a lot of time standing beside patients doing that very thing. And I know how difficult it is. I'm psyched for you. :)

Thanks, did it again today too. In 8 minutes 30 forward and 30 backwards. Takes about 2 minutes to warm up tp backwards and another minute to warm up to forward

Heat on the knee before, ice after?
 
I shall try that. PT got me this electric stimulation thing to use as well

Those are good, they help re-educate the muscles, slow atrophy and make the small muscles fire.

Sometimes after work, I'd throw them on any part of me that was sore before I headed to the dojo.
 
I use to camp in my youth, hike into the woods, climb mountains and thought it was great. As I got older I found I began to agree with my father. And now I am in full agreement with him. Camping and hiking are great, just as long as I can return to the Hotel at the end of the day and sleep in a nice clean bed.
I still like sleeping in a tent by a creek. My sleeping mat takes up more space, in that at 20 I didn't know of such things and was fine without one, at all.

Sweet! That looks like the knee is finally making real progress.
