TRIGGER WARNING! Do not read this if youāre a sensitive sort.
I had to have a neurological test the other day as Iāve been suffering continuous fasciculations and whole muscle twitches for several months. Motoneurones were my area of expertise so I was pretty certain it was probably idiopathic and nothing to worry about, but my mother died of Motor Neurone Disease, so I was being cautious. In the absence of any other symptoms itās probably nothing but I have a specialist appointment in about a year (

) to be sure.
Episodes like this, slightly change oneās perspective on life. Those with terminal illness often have an incredible āunderstandingā of life. In fact, Iād die for insight like that
If I
did have MND Iād have to think about how Iād dispatch myself before the atrocious suffering begins and this was something I discussed with my GP. Technically, itās not an easy thing to do in the U.K. at the moment.
No sympathy required by the way.
