Ah, but it is beautiful up there.
I am just a cranky old lady, me thinks.

I am contemplating to yell 'GET OFF MY LAWN!" at the world.
Then crawl intt my bed.
I might have killed another glass cooktop by melting a cutting board to it.
I could have sworn it was far enough away from the burner!
I need a gas range.
Gas stoves are AWESOME! They stay on when the electricity is off. And being able to cook a hot meal when there is no power means I won't turn into a cranky old lady.

Gas stoves are awesome. This is the first house I am living in without one and I miss it.
Now I'm going to have to buy a camp stove just incase there is a major power failure

During the blizzard of 1999, I was still living in Rochester, NY and working in Macedon, NY (going to school and working - both full time). One of my colleagues drove a Beetle, which, of course, got buried in the snow while our managers were deciding whether or not to shut down the plant and send us home. So, the maintenance and sanitation team, which consisted of some very big gentlemen, dug out her car and carried it out onto the road. :)

Yeah, camp stoves were part of our solution until we got the gas stove. Better than not having coffee. And loads better than being stuck in the house with me if I haven't had any coffee.

Once decided not to go to work during a snowstorm....work was 40 miles away..... I had a full size Chevy Blazer then

It was parked approximately 12 feet from my dinning room bay window......and I could not see it....

Buy a barbecue. Because then you can also have barbecues.

That is a lot of rain. Especially a lot of potential rain.

Yeah. Looks like one of the roads is getting close to being over.

Ironically that proserpine one goes over everything south of us is cut of. You would have to go via Perth.

Well, stay dry man. Good job ditching the beard - it'd just be dripping all over the place the next week or so.
