A history of slavery in the New World with a focus on the U.S.

Interesting. We go to Charleston SC at least once every year its my wifes favorite place in the world. When you take tours and they show you where the slave markets were I get chills thinking about what happened there.

Woman came in to the dojang last night. Recent move from CA, where she was a yellow belt and her son was a green. She let me know that he had set a goal of getting his black belt by the time he is 7. I hope they'll come back, but I doubt it, because I had to be honest and tell her that our average time to BB is 6-8 years, and the youngest we've ever given one was 17.

My only serious adult student who is a Masters in Education and an associate principal not to mention a booj black belt had a goal of achieving his black belt in this style in two years. He was actually quite serious about it even after I said, "yeah, good luck with that." Fortunately, he is dedicated to his goals and is still with me 2 & one-half years later and about ready to test for brown. He will have brown, red, and half-black to achieve before that fateful test in about two more years.

I took out a Yellow Jacket nest that looked like and was the size of a 1/2 deflated football that was built around the wiring for the sprinkler system

My husbands employer did nothing for his 30th anniversary of employment. No acknowledgements, no letter, no cake, no pat on the back, nothing. I wish he would just go in and retire already.

That sucks--it would've been easy for them to just show a little appreciation.

Quite agree mate - that's a very poor show for an employer :(.

I'd ask how they could be this clueless, but we have a large TKD belt mill here in town that does very, very well and hosts an annual tournament with categories like 10-11 y.o. 3rd degree black belts. We require 16 years.

Pizza is never bad............... It's just some are better then others. :)

You know those moments that you agree to do something and it sounded good at the time but now that its time to follow through you realize you should have said no. Yeah that's my day today. Working a charity Auction from 10 am to 6pm. Then going to my real job from 8pm to 8 am

Sounds to me like you'll still have time to grab a few slices in between.
