Once again there is a state trooper sitting just outside our tiny town, on the state route that runs through it, just 200 feet before the speed limit goes from 30 up to 45. (After less than 1000 feet more it goes to 55 as it heads through a sparsely populated farm area toward Bloomington.) I'd be happy if he were pointed to keep people from speeding through the middle of the town, but instead he's set up to get people accelerating after they've left the actual main street area but before the speed limit has technically increased. This is cheap...and a lot less effective in getting people who are really speeding in low-speed areas.
Any houses in that stretch? 9 times out of 10 when you see a cop set up someplace stupid like that its because someone complained to his boss about speeders.
My fav. Is when you stop someone and they tell you that you can'twrite tthem a ticket because they are the one that called in the complaint.
Yeah from your front yard like at your mailbox cars doing 35 or 40 people will swear they are going 65+ we get complaints all the time like thatThere are, and I hadn't considered that possibility. They're well-separated and set way back from the road--farms, mostly, thought not all--but they're there. As an aside, a fair number of sheriff's deputies live near me (but this was a state trooper on a state route).
LOL!
Sounds like my parents town about 300 people and 1 stop light. One gas station one diner and one drug store that's all that's there. The state route is literally Main Street in our little town of 220 people (actually, I live in the county outside the town in a fair-sized subdivision), but it is a major route from Terre Haute through Bloomington and on to the SE.
Well Alabama is rolling right along, why even play on Saturday just give them the National Championship again.
