Hillary - the wrong person for any American office

Hey guys, try to at least keep it civil...

UNK, to me, the idea of leaving seems a bit strange. Around every presidential cycle, I always hear of people being "fed up" that they did not get their way, and want to hear out. Or perhaps they don't like how they are being taxed, or this obscure country over there does it much better... To me, thats part of what makes this country better, the ability to change it! As an individual, can it be changed? Perhaps not, but that individual can inspire others, can run for office, can lead by example.

There are a lot of things I sincerely don't like about this country. Things I'd never miss if I left to my own "nirvana". I guarantee that this "nirvana" will have its own unique problems. If you really think their set of flaws is so much better, then maybe relocating is best. Thats a hard decision to make though...

on that topic, where is there to go? Want a country that speaks English primarily? Then you are a bit limited. Want gun rights? More limitations. Low tax burden? Socialist elements? How about crime rate? Colleges? Unemployment? Where would you go, and what would be your criteria?

Interesting post.

That was a man who really cared about the country, and saw in his vision just how wrong it is for a corporate state that sends it's poor to die so that the corporation can become richer.
I think in this age, that last statement is an unfair assessment. There is alot of "class warfare" these days and its really out of hand. Isn't it the goal of most people to be well off and comfortable? Doesn't that normally take hard work, sweat and effort? Sure, some people get handed it, but most/many earn their millions by hard work. Should we punish those that can actually succeed? Take what they earned and give it to people that effectively do nothing?

Then again, this might be of interest, though it flys in the face of those who believe that the government should be into everything and everyone.

Oh and this was interesting too.

Repeal -all- taxes and reduce the national debt? Wow.
I think its a bit naive, but I think taxes can be seriously reduced or at least reconfigured. I'm a big fan of consumption tax.

I say, lets cut welfare, 100%. End all government coddling programs, including airline and other industry subsidies.
for some, I'd agree. Airlines are needed though, since I'd pretty much count those as infrastructure. Considering airlines are an international business, we would also have to consider how other countries are operating.

commenting inline for this
Only spend government money on:
- Police needed
- Maintaining secure borders needed
- building and maintaining roads, bridges etc. needed
- maintain a stable currency spending money on this? or control of printing/inflation?
- collect tarrifs needed
- maintain courts and the rule of law. needed
- funding of education Let states/local have control
- protection of environment and national resources/treasures needed, however, not to the point that businesses are going under. use tax breaks to encourage businesses to improve
- maint. of necessary government facilities, archives and such places that enrich us (parks, libraries, museums, etc) and who determines what "enrich us"? Art for instance?

No more welfare, IF this is to exist, let it be EXTREMELY limited. Before this was around, the family / church took care of the needy. One of the churches I used to attend still does that. If you can't keep your pants on, and have 3 kids before you are 18 and want to live off the government nipple, should I fund you?

medicade, decrease government regulation and limit frivolous lawsuits. Punish those that bring ridiculous lawsuits. Lots of lawyers will stop chasing those ambulances and costs go WAY down.

government enforced charity, depends on what you call charity

corporate handouts, depends on circumstances. For instance, alot of localities will give tax breaks/incentives to companies to encourage them to come to a certain site. That brings jobs and more taxes. Makes sense to me.

free air travel, gov. cars, etc. for government business, sure, if its needed. I don't expect the president to have to pay for a flight to go broker peace or sign some trade deal.

No more food stamps. If they exist, they better be on a limited time frame. Read above for church/family.

No more HEAP. ?

Let the poor seek the charity of their neighbor and private help. That worked fine in the past.

Oh....who was the guy I quoted?

Thomas Jefferson.
Co-Founder of the party that Mrs. Clinton is a member of....a party so far removed from the views of it's founders as to be a different party all together.
Both parties have completely diverged from their roots. I think its time for a serious third party, possibly a fourth.

Civilized, debatable, 25% Abjectly stupid confirmed.....

Ok this is where I drew the line in debating any subject when the insults start coming. I'm glad though you finally said what you think of us.

You, I would expect, know Winston Churchill was a real person. Those that don't, ARE stupid.
