Have fun Terry...

Safe trip, Terry!

I finally finished replacing my garden edging (cement test cylinders... which is a long story) with bricks! It was cloudy and overcast today - and unusually cool, in the 60s all morning, so I was finally able to work past 10:00 am and get the rest of them in. Now I have 2 other beds to do, but they don't involve removing sod like these did, just finding a way to hold back the filler rocks so they don't fall into the empty cavity, but I think once I get the first couple of cylinders out, I can pull the plastic sheeting up to contain the rocks; it's pretty thick stuff.

Sounds like you can feel you've accomplished something!
Definitely! I've been working on this - slowly - for a couple of weeks, because it's been in the upper 80s and 90s, so by 10:00 or 11:00 am I'd have to quit - I got the final 20 bricks (of 80 in the 2 beds) put in on the second bed this morning, and chopped out a big patch of crabgrass and replaced it with sod, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Post a pic!

Well... this is going to sound kind of funny, but I'm waiting for the sod (mostly crab grass) that I dug out to dry out so it'll weigh less in my trash can (I don't want to break the trash truck's robot arm) - so there's sod laying dirt-side up all over the bricks, drying. After I clean that up, then certainly.

Kind of depressing, knowing that there is someone out there being productive. Congrats Kacey.

Ah, a perfectionist! OK, fair enough.

Well, if were that, then I wouldn't post these... there really was too much sod drying on the bricks to be able to see them. But my sprinklers are on a timer, so leaving the sod out over night to get wet again seemed kind of counter-productive, so I went out and cleaned it up. In the pictures you can see the two beds, a close up of each bed, and what the original edging looked like in another area I still need to work on (but no sod to remove there, so much easier). If you look at all the dirt around the plantings, you can see how much I enlarged the flower beds. The next step is to plant things in them - luckily, I have a neighbor who needs to thin out her beds, who offered me whatever I wanted if I helped her thin them out.

I can see you made them much larger--you'll have a great display when you're done I'm sure. Thanks for sharing the pics!
