...one of the reasons I like Friday Black Belt class is because we get the chance to work on our own....my luck I get stuck working with someone who - whatever I went to work on, he followed... :/

For DD:

Did some light and heavy bag work last night, first time in a long time, and it felt good…it was all Xingyiquan, old habits are hard to break, but it still felt darn good. I got to admit, nothing like bengquan on a heavy bag.

just got back from weekend celebrating my oldest nephew's high school graduation... :) feeling proud but am really going to miss him when he goes away to school! :/

Spent a good part of the day cooking! I'm about ready to invest in a food dehydrator and some canning supplies -- I need some way of preserving my farmer's market goodies other than freezing. :D

I got a dehydrator....it really does not make me go all warm and fuzzy...I still need to freeze stuff because it does not get that dehydrated. Then again, concrete molds down here.....
I did a tiny bit of canning....now I have more mason jars than I'll ever gonna use (after I gave a ton away a while back, too) It's fun, but you have to have the good recipes.

Yesterday I made Tamales...
Hubby had made the filling, I winged the dough from about 3 different recipes from the net.
They turned out pretty good, considering I only had them once before, out of a can (yiekes) and we had been to all the stores we knew to carry hispanic specialties, like corn husks....no dice, not a leave to be had!
I made a couple of samples and rolled them up in seran wrap t steam...worked pretty well!
Looked like a squishy corn dog, but it was good.

lol:) ok...perhaps a little elaboration is in order....he graduated June 5th, but they went on a family trip to Alaska in the latter part of June, so held off on the party until this weekend..

Oh, ok....spreading the parties around a little....I can see that! :)
