As to the Corvette vs Mustang debate, they're both ... erm ... well ... what can I say? They are both not Aston Martins, or Lotus's, or TVR's, or BMW's, or Mercedes, or Jaguars ... etc :D.

By the way, I nearly bought one of those Vantage's ... but I exercised common sense and bought a house instead :D.

Most of those are not available in the US. Aston Martins are too pricey. BMWs are too pricey and too slow. Jaguars.... well... if I can have a V12 powered '69 E-body convertible, I'll take it. Sex on wheels. And notoriously unreliable. Their other models never really appealed to me.
When Sue and I were in the UK, this is where we got our transportation. The only E-type they had available was the 6 cylinder, so we settled for this.

That was taken in the car park at Warrick Castle.

I forgot to mention Porsche :).

I wouldn't take your view of Jaguar's from what you may have experienced a while ago in America - that period was indeed a shambles and deserves all the scorn you pour on it.

This is more like it :

Oh, if I might make so bold, that picture you linked above is a lovely car with a beautiful lady standing next to it :Raleigh bow:.

The new F-Type is pretty nice, but nothing, by any maker ever, compares to the '69 E-type convertible.

But for the price of an F-type, I can build a much faster and more reliable Corvette, Camaro/Firebird, or Mustang.

You have to remember my automotive motto: Stock Sucks.
So if modifying it means one-off parts, that's a major negative, to me. :)

Did someone say Porsche….

Way back in 1981, when I was an Auto mechanic I came damn close to buying a 1963 Porsche 356b but after close inspection I found out it had been rolled so I decided against it. and it was not in the condition of the picture I posted

However I have always wanted a speedster

At the going away party, they announced that my daughter is pregnant. Their son will be 1 Feb 28th, so this is their second. Our 7th grandchild.

Dammit, I am not OLD enough for this...

You will be, before you know it. :)

And I thinks it's bad I'm a Great Uncle before I hit fifty :D.

Don't complain about being to young, trust me I know from experience, they are all just numbers.

:grins: Have to agree about the E-Type, DD :nods:.

I can't believe you used the word "reliable" about an American car :p. My missus is a Yank Boat fanatic ... it's something I cannot cure her of it seems. We do have a compromise mind you if she ever has another one ... a Camaro Z28 would suit us both :D.

Also, I have seen the top flight C5R 'Vette's running in the GT series ... TVR's eat them for snacks :).

To make up for being unkind about Corvettes {:whisper: I like them really, don't tell the wife} here's some eye and ear candy:

TKD in the morning, doing my daughters brakes in the afternoon, then she leaves to go back to school.

Eating oranges and drinking Diet Mt Dew (I allow myself one a day) before heading to TKD.
