Well “ what’s cracking” “ what’s cracking off” “ what’s cracklating” “ what’s crackalackin” are all acceptable ways of greeting and asking about current events here in California.LOL yeah I certainly didn't mean that haha, our usage varies a bit!
"In Australian slang, "cracker" can mean something excellent or great, as in "What a cracker of a day!"."
Bangor? Isn't that in Wales? It was nice out today in maine mid 50s in bangor. To some of you I know that's cold but for polar bears like myself that is nice weather. During the winter months sometimes I feel like I'm in a siberian prison, because I don't do any outdoor winter activities never been into it idk why. So when spring gets here I celebrate. I went out on my porch and had a celebratory stogie.
My condolencesDrunk at the moment, so won't be responding to any of the different threads here. But my mom just called me; my abuela is on hospice now. I made peace with it in December when I saw her...my mom has been convinced things will be okay, and due to her own surgery is unable to fly down to Florida, so it's a surprise to her. I spoke with my brother and he's on the same page; when I visited in December she barely remember me and didn't remember my wife; when he visited for my primos quincinera, she didn't have any recognition towards either of them. It may be better this way, hopefully after death she reforms with her full brainpower.

One of the funny things about the state of maine in the USA is alot of our towns and small cities have the names of European and even some other places names of their cities. There's a bangor(where I live), a Belfast, a Mexico, China, Moscow, etc there are more but those are the ones I can think of quickly. The part of the us I live in is called "New England" lots of people of English and British ancestry here so it kind of makes sense that alot of the names of places are English or European. We also have other European communities there once was a big French population there might still be. I myself am mainly English, irish and Scottish ancestry. So yeah even though a majority Caucasian state although in some pockets there is more diversity, there is alot of European diversity.Bangor? Isn't that in Wales?
Maine is AWESOME!!!!! I was going to retire there, but right now it looks like New Hampshire might be the place. That's cool. I once knew a family that lived in like kennebunkport or somewhere near there. The mother worked in portsmouth, the father worked in Manchester and the son commuted to college in Massachusetts. New Hampshire is nice too. And it's closer to Boston. When I lived in Southern Maine and was going to college and had friends at places like m.i.t & tufts I would spend some late late nights commuting back to Portland after I spent the whole day and most of the night hanging out with my friends. So yeah I'd be driving back at like 2 am to Portland. We would sometimes go to events at m.i.t and my friends were involved in a club there so sometimes I'd be allowed to go too. I heard a crazy story once that stephen hawking put together a grand celebration there, champagne, oderbs, great entertainment. It was a meet up for people who had experienced time travel. So anyways this one guy gets an invite he sends a letter back 2 weeks before the event, they get the letter way before the event and it says "great party, thanks for inviting me, great people, great conversation and the champagne and oderbs were lovely" I hope their minds realized they were trolled. That story always cracks me up.Maine is AWESOME!!!!! I was going to retire there, but right now it looks like New Hampshire might be the place. But I do have a place in Maine
