Now me, I had a strategic nap mid afternoon. This way I can stay up until midnight, then get up at a normal time tomorrow morning.

Cool. Your doggie will appreciate it. What is he? I love dogs of all kinds especially preposterous mongrels.
Oh wow, I must see picturesShe’s a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She’ll be four years old in January. We’ve had dogs for forty years. First, American Pit Bull Terriers, then American Staffordshire Terriers.
They were all the sweetest, mellowest dogs I’ve ever known. Now, as an old man, I get a hyperactive lunatic. Don’t get me wrong, she’s sweet and very friendly. I walk her everyday. A couple of times dogs have aggressively jumped on her. She thinks they’re playing and just wags her whole body and wants to play.
But when she’s not sleeping it’s like she’s just done a gram of cocaine. Way too much energy.
Parents drove down that 1k miles to visit for a couple days. We're going out to an irish pub so we can be there as they celebrate new years at 7pm (midnight in dublin where the owner's from), then coming back and probably going to play board games for a bit until our midnight. What are you guys doing for new years? I've run out of money so I'm going to spend the entire day in my pyjamas drinking gunpowder green tea and smoking my last few cigarettes. Then at the stroke of midnight I'm gonna zero all my health apps (couch to 5k, NHS quit smoking etc.) and then having cut down on my nicotine and alcohol intake slowly and succesfully, go cold turkey, wake up the next morning and go for a run. Nothing exciting...
Now that sounds great.Parents are up, visiting from NY.

What sort of motorcycle? Only I specialise in eastern block bikes from just before the fall of communism. I have a jawa TS350 in small pieces in the yard as we speak.I mentioned, my wife got me a leather jacket, a motorcycle leather...now all I have to do is convince her I need a motorcycle again
But today, New Years ever 2024, it got me thinking about my days of the leather jacket (s) (I had 3 actually) and about people I knew and hung out with in my 20s (bikers, beer drinkers and Hell raisers). And I remember a few back then telling me that they'd be surprised if I made it to 30.
At 31, I realized, while out for a walk one night..."I'm 31!!! I didn't plan on making it this far.....now what"... well I doubled 30 and then some...... still don't know what the heck to do..... but I sure showed them
And it was 31 I also stopped hanging out in bars with that group.... much to the upset of my then wife.... probably why she is an ex-wife
Oh wow, I must see pictures
What will I look for, if I get one? Being old with knee issues I'd prefer a Harley Trike. But I would be looking at older bikes, old Harley, old Triumph, even old BMW. I am also a fan of the old thumpers (single cylinders), and that even opens it up to some of the older Japanese bikesWhat sort of motorcycle? There's such a thing as BSA, you know. If you appreciate fine machinery, look for a BSA A7. Its'a hardtail, no suspension on the back wheel, but it's a lovely bikeWhat will I look for, if I get one? I like the thinking... but y'know, there's always a place for bacon. No it's not about Bacon.... and I have decided it is not a resolution since I decided to do it the day after Christmas...so.... the only resolution I ever made, that I didn't break...is still going strong
My youngest, about 5 years ago, said she did not understand "New Years Resolutions".... why not just decide to do it, and then do it...why wait to New Years.... if you need New Year to ge tyou going, then you probably won't do it long anyway
Yes I know, also Norton and Old Royal Enfield, and back in America Indian. There's such a thing as BSA, you know. If you appreciate fine machinery, look for a BSA A7. Its'a hardtail, no suspension on the back wheel, but it's a lovely bike
