Last Poster #8

We have a couple of senior cats. And we sure didn’t make them happy bringing a kitten into the house. An orange kitten, to boot. He’s a funny one.

I was cleaning the floors in the kitchen and this is Murray … I don’t know…. Sniffing the chair?

Been reading the running man by Stephen king, he wrote it under his pen name bachman. I'm loving it. Reading it together with a friend, we have a set number of pages we can read each day, but I always want to read more. Growing up I didn't really read Mr king but I loved his movies. I now understand why he is such a successful author, his writing style hooks you in and you don't want to stop the story. I'm hoping all his books are like this, if so he has a fan for life. Anyone read the running man before?

Mylo-Bear-Boy 10/04/07 - 28/10/24. The house will be so empty without him.

I'm sorry for your loss. He such a handsome boy. I lost my dog last year, he was more than just a dog to me. Even though he passed one thing never will and that's all the love he gave me and our family, that part will forever be in my heart. I'm sorry this happened man.

I have, but it’s been 35 years. I’ve read just about everything Stephen King wrote up to It.

IIRC, I really liked the way he numbered the chapters backwards like a countdown. Very effective way to build tension.

I have heard someone’s making a new movie based on the book. I wonder if it will be more like the novella or the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.

I heard king didn't like the film adaptation. But might just be gossip. If they make a movie more accurate to the book I'll definitely check it out. I own the one with arnold in it but tried to watch it once and sadly passed out. It wasn't boring I just was tired ha ha. Do you recommend any of his books particularly for someone who likes thrillers and loves the running man? I'm considering reading the dark half, after this. Or might start the dark tower series.

Dark tower is a tough one to get into but it picks up. I don’t know much about his more recent books. But Christine is a classic, and the Dead Zone. The Stand is great, too.

It’s been a while. I might have to pick up a copy of the Dead Zone.

More straight up monster/horror books that are great are the shining, salems lot, and pet semetary

Drank, smoked, did a social media binge.... I'd underestimated how hard it was going to be
Sorry to hear.. I guess those things coming up to me is the very substance of inner work and opportunity to work through them, rather than just cutting it out completely.

Those retreats can be very challenging... and always bring up significant things within you. Don't be too hard on yourself brother 🙏🏻

There’s a saying, ‘Taking on a pet is signing a contract with sorrow.’

Apparently that’s what it looks like.
The largest I ever worked i my LEO days was 8-cars. It happened at dawn with sleet and rain. The cars were coming over a sharp and stacking on top of each other. A nurse that worked at our local hospital avoided the accident but got out to try and help. We did not know she was there until we had pulled 5-cars off the pile.
A very sad day.

That’s tragic. This was nothing like that. According to the news, no serious injuries. Just a bunch of people following too close in the rain.

There are new Taiji masters  on MT these days.....and I leave all taijiquan questions to their Wuxia..... not interested in fighting off troll tactics any longer....

I'm becoming a regular at the minor injuries unit. This time, I fell off my bike and my knee looks like a map of belgium during the first world war
