At the age of 77, my running day is finally over. My doctor told me, if I want to maintain my walking ability, I have to stop my running. I will miss my running. :arghh:

Sorry to hear that.

Many of the old masters I knew of or have known didn't do well as they grew older.
We both have known some of them.

I don't think people understand that the things they did when they were young didn't account for growing old.
I know I didn't.

Sometimes wonder if the conditioning done long ago is the cause of my hands and other things giving me problems at times now. 🤔

Would I change the things done long ago, if I could now ?
Probably not. 😂

Enjoy your walk. 👍

The design of this sword guard (tsuba) is attributed to legendary swordsman, metal worker, sumi-e painter and calligrapher. It’s sweeping interlocking ovoids-design are supposed to testify to his spiritual enlightenment.

Why does it remind me of an ex-girlfriend? 😐

Been watching a live camera on Naples pier in Naples Florida. The storm surge from Milton is coming in.... and yet there are, what I like to refer to as, Darwin Award Contestants, walking on the pier and wading in the storm surge.... oh and of course, taking pictures with thier phone.

The main crowd seems to have left, but occasionally another contestant walks in the surge, under the pier....

My brother-in-law,
Sir Lawrence of No-Clue-ia, lives in Tampa. I called him this morning to see if he was okay. He’s not in the least bit worried. Said it’s no big deal, just media B.S.

Poor mental health doesn’t run in his family, it gallops.
Lawrence has always been Secretariat.

I’ve heard US agencies have artificially manufactured this hurricane? They are so bad. Why would they do this awful thing. I believe they used giant hairdryers to spin the air into a deadly vortex. The hairdryers were built my Milton Inc…coincidence? I think not.

You ever tried an eliptical at the gym? My Dr recommended it to me years ago. It feels like you're running but very low to no impact on the joints. I can't run either not distance anyways I have a knee injury.

The 7 stages of exercise enthusiasm.

Stage 1:ugghhh.... sleepy not want run
stage 2:Caffeine abuse
stage 3:Hell yeah let's do this thing!
Stage 4:OK, this is actually going quite well
Stage 5:O bloody hell I feel I may be about to expire
Stage 6:Endorphins, the high you can feel smug about
stage 7:For some reason, I want to do that again
Dude I hate exercise outside of martial arts training. I like shadow boxing, or hitting the heavy bag and all other ma related training. But I hate strength training and cardio outside of ma training. I still do it but man I dislike it. Sometimes we have to do things we don't like to get where we want to be. But if I want to be stronger and have more wind I have to continue doing it.

So I'm making a bucket list with a friend. Anyone else here made one before? What type of stuff would you put on yours? I haven't officially started it yet we start it tomorrow. I've just listed the things I've already done that were bucket list worthy. Kind of an exercise to get my mind in the right place to see where I've been and where I want to go.

I assume I can always get a running machine at home if I want to. I just enjoy outdoor activity. I enjoy air going through my lung in fast speed. I also enjoy watching young girls running and passing me (I can't compete my running speed with them). :)

I have replaced my running by doing kick/punch drills as:

1. Hook punch, back fist, groin toes kick, face punch.
2. Block/grab punch, front heel kick and punch, hook punch.
3. Hook punch, roundhouse kick, spin back fist, hook punch.
4. Block and punch, side kick, block/grab and punch, punch.

Those are some basic skills that I like to maintain.
