Retired to Texas a while ago and enjoying life. Thanks for asking. :)
Sweet. What part of the Lone Star state are you in? I've spent a bit of time working in Texas over the years - mostly around Dallas and San Antonio. I always eat too much there.

That's why they say everything is bigger in texas. The plates, the food ,and your regret after eating that last slice of steak because you didn't want to get a to go box.

A couple of acquaintances of mine have succumbed from this horrible pandemic. My good friend has lost both his parents from it within two days.

Please be careful, everybody. Please.

I haven't lost any friends or family to this yet, but it feels like it's only a matter of time. At least one of the Hobbit's friends came really close. Scary.

So, yes, please - everyone be careful.

San Antonio is quite a nice tourist town. Impossible not to over-eat there.
I have only been to Dallas a few times for work. In and out without any downtime so did not get a good feel for the town.

San Antonio has grown like crazy. Was there a few years back, and it was almost unrecognizable from 20 years ago. Austin, too.

Georgetown area just north of Austin. Still trying to get used to the food after living in NYS all my life.

I enjoyed Martial Talk for many years in the Bob Hubbard time frame. I will be popping in and out going forward and will look you up from time to time.
Glad to see you back in these parts! Don't be a stranger, now...

After a quick workout, I made a Phyllo veggie pie this morning for brunch with a rib eye and Grey Goose cocktails.

I was last there about 6 years ago, I think. I don't have a memory of it 20 years ago, though I know I worked there briefly on some bank project (probably I didn't get to see any of the place in daylight back then).
