We got a call last night about two unaccompanied teens on an incoming flight, one fifteen years old and one sixteen, who disrupted the entire five hour flight, harassing the flight crew, insulting people, throwing stuff, generally being complete ash wholes.

A group of us, standard procedure, met the flight when it landed. I was expecting hard looking teenagers. Two boys, who looked like they were twelve, got off accompanied by the crew. They looked like who you would cast in a movie for stereotypical spoiled brats.

We - five cops, members of the flight crew, and a dozen passengers, escorted them to who would be picking them up, hopefully the parents. Mom got out of her car at curbside, all worried looking at her babies surrounded be police. We informed her of the circumstances. She asked them what happened. They quietly grumbled "nothing".

Mom informed us that her children never lie and she didn't believe any of us. She was what we call here a "whole wheat, nutty crunchy, Planet Maui air head, rich person".

The flight crew asked her how she could think everybody would make this up? She replied that people often "take out their jealousies on nice looking people."

I'm sure these two boys have a brilliant future.
Couldn't they be charged as juveniles? Maybe mama will wake up and smell the thorns when her babies are thrown into the juvie for creating a dangerous situation aboard an aircraft.

Have booked to stay out at a yoga ashram for 4 nights. Will be different! Living the ashram life, and experiencing their routine. I only do a very little of yoga stuff, but they have yoga sessions during the day and also meditations so will be just a time to rebalance, reflect and renew after all the damage my system has gone through the last few months.

Just had to get away for a bit, and was craving a retreat of solitude hehe. Looking forward to it!
What is "yoga ashram", @_Simon_ ? Is it like a retreat? Sounds interesting - like something I would enjoy. I should look and see if there is something like that in our area. I know we have a health camp - it's a week-long stay and includes yoga and other fitness sessions, but it is super-expensive.

Technically, yes. But this is Maui. Which kind of makes Disneyland look like Tijuana.

Ok, explain this to me.... I spend HOURS every week in a room chock-full of huffing, sweaty people (in fitness classes, you bunch of pervs) - and not a dent. I go out for a lunch and a movie with my husband and pick up a nasty cold.
Well of course, it is your husbands fault!;)

I'm always amused when people tell me precisely where and when they got their cold. How could you possibly know? The time between exposure and symptoms for a cold is up to 5 days. Unless you were only around one other person in that entire time, you just don't know.

@Dirty Dog, I confirmed my wife and I are going to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks in April. Do you have any dive suggestions for the island?

Unfortunately, no. Puerto Rico is not known for it's amazing diving, and we've never gone there. Given the recent disasters on the island, and the lack of response from our government, I'm not sure this would be a good time to vacation there in any case. Go there on a relief mission, perhaps, but not vacation.
I do hope you have a good time, and if you find that the diving is better than expected, let me know.

Will do.
We do a mission trip to Chaipas and Guatemala annually in March. Strictly a working trip and an ash kicker. The Puerto Rico scheduling is driven from my wife's business and as of right now it is still set to schedule. If it turns out to be a go, I will make every effort to get in a few dives and keep you informed.

Well, obviously, it's always the husband's fault.

I can say that I've had a cold the last few days, and I've no idea where it came from. Made me miss kali today (I was okay enough to train, but not enough that I knew I wouldn't get others sick).

You're just....

I'm gonna...

But I....

grrr!!!

SHHHHHHH! You are going to ruin my cover story. I've had colds since the day I was born - of COURSE I know all this. It's just a manipulation device. UGh.... WHY do I always have to explain such basic things?

So, you just don't do anything about juvenile offenders?

Massachusetts is considered the most liberal state in the country, closely followed by Hawaii. Personally, I have been involved with a lot of Juvenile offenders, I worked in the public school system for years and in a lock up unit for juvie offenders, so I speak from a perspective of experience.

In both places we have programs. We have been trying to teach the liberals to eat their young. Unfortunately, it's not working....as the food source is spoiled.

Didn't see that one coming, didja? :)

That is SUCH a dad joke. But seriously.... Damn. That sucks. I am extremely prejudiced against spoiled children. Must be that dreaded Soviet upbringing talking. Those kids are lucky I wasn't on that plane - they would have experienced the results of said upbringing. Meat hooks and duct tape might have been involved, but I am sure other passengers would have had a much more pleasant flight.
