Been making good use of my 3 day weekend. Played D&D yesterday, followed by hosting my brothers birthday party (we did a bob ross painting thing, that turned out to be a lot of fun), and then hosted a fantasy football draft/bbq today. Tomorrow I've got tai chi, acupuncture and kali. Then back to work.
where was our invite?!

Got an e-mail from a company in Japan that i ordered Aikido knee pads from for the youngest. They wanted me to review the product..... problem is, I haven't got it yet and based on the tracking info, it ain't here.
Then it's not working very well, is it?

Good weekend of competing.

Jacob competed at the PKC Internationals and finished:

1st in Ippon kumite (1 point sparring) (13-17 year old)
4th in Continuous Sparring (13-17 year old
2nd in Kata (13-14 year old)
1st in kumite (5 point matches, 13-17 year old)
1st in weapons forms (13-14)
Under 18 Grand Champion in weapons forms
And was on the Bunkai team for adult kata that tied for 1st but lost the tie breaker.

Fun weekend.

That's a nice stack of achievements for the weekend. I love hearing about his successes.

May 2020?! that's over 6 months away, I can't plan 6 days ahead....
We try to register well in advance because these things fill up pretty quickly. Also, the earlier you register, the better are your chances for picking whichever wave you want. We prefer earlier waves, because the earlier you go, the less deteriorated the track is and the less muddy the climbing obstacles are.

The last but not the least, I like having that out there as a goal to train for.

And post-last, registering earlier is always less expensive, too.

I trimmed just over a mile of fence line, put down the trim, and hung the curtains & pictures in my nieces baby room. Made two sets of platforms for her helper bed in the baby's room and in her bedroom.
I don't think I understand what labor day is supposed to be about. :)

Will do. Then I just have to say your name, and it'll figure out the rest.

Hopefully I get an actual carrier pigeon, and not just a random bird...
I think owls are more in vogue at the moment. Though we have a lot of turkey vultures around here this year, so maybe give those a shot.

Tell me more about the Bob Ross painting thing. Is there a party game where you paint things following directions?

Wait, what? Your niece's baby's room has over a mile of fence? Wow... that's one hell of a nursery!

No, I didn't do anything deep or profound this weekend. I ate, I slept, I cooked, I did some drawing, I designed a stuffed toy. I made pirozhki with mashed potatoes, pancetta, mushrooms, and onions.

My weekend.....mowing a lawn, taking the youngest to Aikido class, meeting some of Mrs Xue's friends, watching it rain...hard, real hard...with occasional, associated, thunder and lightning...also a bit of exercise, and some Taijiquan

Yes then a 12 hour drive home Monday.

It was a fun weekend though. The team went and played laser tag after competing Saturday and got to hang out all three nights. The members live in 4 different states so they dont get alot of opportunity to just hang out. So alot of fun.
