I admit I know next to nothing about witches. You comment about herb lore caught my attention. Are you saying the origin of the word witch relates to gardeners or such?
The origin of the word "witch" comes from "wicca", which means "wise woman". Most so-called witches were village healers, and most of them were women. Naturally, as people studying herbs for the purpose of perfecting their craft of healing, they had to do some weird things - like go into the woods to gather stuff, make strange brews, etc. And so it went. As you probably know, parts of the original Bible were written in Aramaic and parts - in Greek. Unfortunately, that bit about "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live", was the result of a confusion between a Greek word for "poison" - "pharmakon" and a word for "sorceress, witch" - "pharmacis". Also, in Greek, the word "pharmakon" is alternatively used as the word for "poison" and a word for "drug". So... all of that got mixed up together, and "poisoner" turned into "witch".... It's a long and sordid story.

I use to live near Salem Mass...witch central USA. A lot of history there about witches. There is an entire museum there dedicated to it, scary stuff, if you were a simply "called" a witch in early Salem.
Yes... very scary stuff. Some people say it's some kind of a redeeming quality that no witches were burned at Salem - as if drowning, hanging, and crushing is any better.

I used to date, and then live with, a witch back in my misspent youth. Sometimes it still unsettles me.

I'm just glad she didn't turn me into a newt.
We are all different. Some witches are really hard-core and super-serious about some things. I am very laid-back. Mine is a very casual, domestic sort of magic. I grow things, cook, write, draw, dance, and generally try to help people be happier today than they were yesterday. :)

The witches Museum in Salem has an area you walk into with life size dioramas of the various witch punishments, and they have audio too. I will never forget the one with the person being crushed by stone and the cuy being crushed saying, in a very stressed voice "more stone" because he would not confess to being a witch

Ugh.... Can't Mrs. Xue stick some needles into that shoulder? Glad the headache is gone.

She did, and it helped.

But yesterday afternoon the shoulder was still hurting, not as bad as it originally was, but it was hurting. I was watching my youngest Aikido class and I decided to try and push myself up, as I was sitting, so I was mostly supported by my arms, just to see if it hurt. IT hurt a little, but then I felt, and heard a little crack. I st back down and then tried it again. I heard and felt a much larger "CRACK" in the area of the upper spine.
I was worried for a minute because that area started to feel like pins and needles and then get warm. In about 2 minutes that all went away and now my shoulder feels fine.....but I have a sinus headache today...

Reminds me of the time I was rather sick and went to the Emergency room. I knew the doctor and he diagnosed me and prescribed an antibiotic that I had never heard of before. I asked him how long did he think it would be until I started feeling better. He said; Start taking this as soon as you get home and and you'll be dead by morning...so...by morning.......

Bacon would kill me.... why are you being so mean to me when I have a headache....:D

Hmmm.... sounds like there was something out of alignment there.

Or it won't kill you but make you stronger. :)

The things some people are capable of doing to other human beings just because they do not understand something is truly mind-boggling.

Been having a weird, painful bubbling in the bottom left of the back of my neck. It's been happening about once a week for a few seconds, but today it's happened 3 times already, and it's been more painful than normal. Luckily, I've got an acupuncture appointment on monday, and acupuncture's helped in the past. Hopefully acupuncture will help with my limbs falling asleep too, since the neurologist found nothing (except the cyst which he said is unrelated).

did you check with a cardiologist?

I think I have a problem. This morning, while waiting for my car at the garage, I was watching some random home improvement/house flipping show they had on.

The redid the back yard with a rather cool fire pit. It was a circle made of pavers around the fire pit. The showed the finished product, with 3 Adirondack chairs sitting next to the lit fire pit. My first thought about it was

"get those chairs off of there, that's would be a great place to do some Baguazhang circle walking"......"oh and it is pretty cool looking too."

I realize I have a problem ;)

Nah....

Like horse people looking at a golf course: PASTURE, Cross Country Course!

(I usually get ticked. Easy to do when you got a 10 man crew and oodles of money)

I wonder if you had an impingement (something I've been prone to since my rotator cuff tear a year or two ago). It gets really painful, but if it slips back into place, there's a popping (or cracking) sound and feel, and it's suddenly quite a bit better.
