When one hurts, it's usually something stupid like sciatica, or twisting it in a dumb way.

I NEED to do taijiquan.......stupid knee
No you don't. What the heck do you need to work out for, just chill, aloha.
WHAT?! EVERYONE knows ice feels totally different if you put it on your elbow compared to when you put it on your foot. Geez...Be careful now!
Similar but different.... Why is it that on the very day when I need to do five loads of laundry, some ironing, grocery shopping, translation, work, and general cleanup my motivation just buggers off? I think my motivation is a cat.I need to workout today. And I feel really good. But I have to go shopping at three different places, run into work on my day off for something, cook and do a bunch of other stuff.
So I'm really looking for an excuse to skip a workout today. Anybody got any spare excuses I can use?
I'm not in Hawaii......like SOME people on MT
Oh, and I'm going to Boston this weekend.
So...you got the excuse and promptly ignored it? Stubborn gitHave to give you big mahalos for yesterday. I was really looking for an excuse to not work out. But your post got so under my skin I ended up working out like a banshee. Then ran all errands, and worked out some more. Heck, I was even working out, squeezing in last sets of planks and what not all the way up until bedtime. So, thanks, bro.
I'm headed to Boston in a couple months. Too bad it wasn't at the same time, I would have corrupted you badly. There probably would have been wanted posters.
I hope the procedure has gotten much better since the early 90's. You can Google sites specific to arthroscopy. The reviews are mixed but I am sure that has much to do with the differences in people. Thanks for sharing that information about arthritis and arthroscopy. I wasn't aware of that, and it possibly explains some of the current issues with my right knee.
Back in 1982 I was working out on a factory floor and had a blinding head pain and passed out. I was out for about 20 seconds then came around. I felt totally fine after several minutes and needed to finish the work I was doing so stayed for about 3 more hours. I stood up from a workstation and the same thing happen. I was carried to the ER where they checked out the vitals but nothing was found. An appointment was made with a Neurologist and they did a CT or MRI (I forget) and said I had a Cluster headache. He said I may have then every day or never have one again. Thankfully it has been the latter. I have never had headache issues so it was a very bizarre thing.Sorry to hear that, man. I've been lucky to never experience a migraine, though the Hobbit does deal with them from time to time.
Do not go into the light. Especially with a migraine.
No kidding! I have a little bit of arthritis, but nothing truly agonizing, so I guess I don't qualify either.I am feeling so left out!

I did some quick research, and it looks like the small tears caused by arthroscopy are still an issue. In one study of meniscus tears, 100% of knees receiving arthroscopy developed arthritis shortly afterward, compared to 59% of knees that were treated only with physical therapy. Of course, that doesn't include whether the PT was an equal relief for the initial meniscus issue or not.I hope the procedure has gotten much better since the early 90's. I got pretty banged up in the early 2000's so I can't really tell what is the root cause of some pains. The left knee was totally trashed and is 12° out of place. I always overuse the right knee. It is very strange the differences in pain form left to right knee. If I step wrong with the left leg it feels like I have been strongly shocked. The right knee just has a dull pain most of the time but I trust my right leg much more so, a catch 22 I suppose.

Poor xueI get Migraines, and when I get 1 I am generally going to have 2 more within a week, I tend to go partially blind, an they hurt, but they are nothing like that. I hope you never have another. But if I am around Mrs Xue when they start, she puts needles in my head and I skip the blindness, the pain and go directly to the logy, tired bits.
