Ohhh, I love San Antonio! Have you ever been? It's great. I'd walked the entire River walk when I worked a project there once. Beautiful place!
It is! Beautiful... and like 20 degrees cooler on the River Walk during the day... Wild.

The Alamo, though... is TINY! Expected it to be much bigger.

@drop bear, I think this explains a lot.

Not really. I find lake diving cold, colorless and fairly boring. There's just so little to look at.
Agree. There is almost always a wicked thermocline. I have done some fun quarry diving, finding and exploring the old equipment left there. Very different dynamic though. I do not see an open water dive in the near future so I have to settle for what is available if it is worth the effort.

Use to have some friends that were divers and they liked diving the Sacandaga Reservoir, especially the north end. There was an entire village under water there. And throughout the reservoir they would find submerged buildings.

I rather liked diving man-made lakes. There's a lot of interesting stuff there - old trees, sometimes equipment like you mentioned, and just geology that's unusual to see in a natural lake.

Last night of Mardi Gras.

We average around 8-11 miles walking every night....so my feet are killing me.

Has anyone mentioned that you're rather disgustingly over-talented? Artist, cook, translator, author... what don't you do?
I don't speak French, except when it comes to ordering wine and coffee or screaming for help. It is a huge impediment since I love France and the French. :)

I am not a very great martial artist.

I am scared of heights and of the dark.

I am incapable of leaving a dirty coffee mug on the counter - if I find one, I always put it in the dishwasher (@gpseymour HATES this one!)

So, I have my limitations.

But I did just start taking belly dancing classes - so that compensates for some things. ;)

That's hilarious. I'm the one in our house who puts the cups in the dishwasher. Drives my wife bonkers.

Want to be disappointed.....go see Plymouth Rock....
I knew the medicine man for the Plymouth tribe in that area. He said that Plymouth rock is not even where the whites landed. It also really annoyed him that there is a fence around the rock. He said it's like a prison. Very disrespectful to the land.
