New week again and annual interview finialisation today which more than likely means that the pay rise I was told I would get will now change to you are not getting a pay rise as my company has been tightening their purse strings of late. Oh well, nothing I can do about it I suppose.

Thanks to not having a union, I've taken an effective pay-cut every year for more than a decade, Mau - I am now about 30% worse off than I was in '96 in real terms. Welcome to the New British Private Sector as we head straight back to the halcyon Victorian days of workers that did as they were told and starved quietly out of sight of the people that matter .

Sukerkin it is that way here in the US, teachers keep taking pay cuts while supervisor and directors get raises. My wife has lost about twenty seven percient since 2009

That sucks regarding the guys who have effectively gotten pay cuts over the years.

Not entirely sure if I have got a pay rise or not. My business manager told me he wanted to give me a certain amount up-lift a month to raise my annual salary to a certain level. However, when I told him I was already at that level he got a little confused and said that he would have to check the numbers but it should still work out.

Not holding my breath, but I would like to think I will still be getting a pay rise, but in all honesty think I will receive an email soon informing me that I am at the correct level so his offer will disappear. Oh well, I can live in hope for a few more days at least.
