OK, I have been told (by Mrs Xue) that it is likely that I will be going to Germany next year. I have also been told that Mrs Xue only handles Mandarin and Japanese languages but does not handle German. I have been told I need to get MUCH better with my German before we go since "I" am the one who will be responsible for all German conversations. My German is from college..waaaaaaay back in the stone age, and it is propped up these days by Google translate and English/German Dictionaries.

Yes, I'm scared..... anyone know where I can get a babel fish.

The whole verb "to be" thing simply perplexes me beyond belief
Check yourr library, they might have some audio courses. I know mine has Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese (mandarin), some Japanese and yes GERMAN. Since you got some formal schooling, that should get you up to speed, beer will take care of the rest! Heck, it might get Mrs Xue to babble like a Chatty Cathy!

The only german I need to know is
1. guten morgen
2. wie geht es dir
3. wo ist das Essen
4. auf Wiedersehen

you forgot to ask for a drink, but other than that, you got the essentials (according to a growing boy) down pat!

...hope my last e-mail today did the trick - the lady that annoys me at work
sent me one e-mail at 4:20 pm saying an account needed review..no problem,
I acknowledged it..I'm done at 4:30 pm, I'll handle it in the morning - THEN,
she sends another e-mail at 4:23 pm saying the same thing AGAIN!! I had
previously told my supervisor about this habit of hers and he said when
she does it again, copy it and send it to me - so I did - and then I went home!

He's not old enough to drink...
Im techniqually 21 according to april 20th atleast though actually I prefer sobriety though.
1. I get to keep all my brain cells
2. When I drive away I tell the drunk man have fun calling a taxi! (that is if he still has money left over) :p
3. I think ill just go get another glass of thai tea (whatever its called!)

Just get her drunk. She will be amazed how easy it will come to hark a loogy! ;)

I think I need to learn spanish, but it is surprisingly difficult for me...seeing that it is a European language, and I already got 2 down pat, and a base in Latin...

Ironically I tried Spanish in college, after German. For me to understand anything I had to translate the spanish in to German and German in to english and reverse that to come up with the spanish answer. I talked to the Prof about it and he said, he had heard of that before...but had no idea how to fix it.... I dropped the class...however my German was much better when I left Spanish class than when I started....my spanish was horrible

You also need to know "usted es una flor rosada" it is a great way to impress and make Spanish friends (And yes I had an evil smile on my face as I typed this)

You should. Cool stuff, sometimes.

The only spanish I need to know is
3. ¿Dónde está la comida

To which you should add Donde esta el bano...

5. No habla Español

Why do you need to tell someone that THEY don't speak Spanish? They probably already know...
Try "No hablo Espanol" instead....

And "No mas tequilla para usted."

I rest my case! :)

its not wise to just leave your case lying around :D

Ill tell that to the biggest toughest luchador i can find

To which you should add Donde esta el bano...
