Why would he marry someone who wasn't a Trekker?!? Why would anyone?

I didn't, that's for sure :D. Of course, we did disagree on which was the superior series - it wouldn't do to agree on everything would it .

One of you didn't like the original series best?!? Look, don't tell me which of you it was!

:Grins:

Whilst there is not denying which series had the influence on my youth (I always played Captain Kirk in the Primary school playground improvised-Star-Trek episodes :D), in my adult life, despite my respect for Captain Picard, I was a Voyager fan-boy. My lost darling planted her flag for Deep Space 9 (a choice I ever teased her about).

That said, regardless of which I thought the better series, she won the moral victory when she was dying.

A day or two before things got too bad, tho' we suspected what was coming, we were lying together watching DS9 on the DVD+LCD I'd set up in the bedroom for her (when she couldn't get about much any more).

The episode was one where terrorists were blowing stuff up on DS9 and the scene was playing where the school Keiko O'brien ran was bombed and Miles had to be restrained from running into the flames as he thought she was inside.

Out of the blue, she held me tight and said that she knew that I would do that for her and she loved me for it. Even recounting it now breaks me down ... so Michelle wins, for that reason alone, DS9 is the best Star Trek series.

Wow. I don't mean to sound funny about this at all, Sukerkin--that is the most moving story about Star Trek I have ever heard.

Awesome time on the mat with Steve Golden today. If you ever get a chance to take one of his seminars I would highly recommend it.
