Finally made it home from Indianapolis.....exhausted

I like Indianapolis. We have family out there. I always make it a point to eat at Papa Roux. They got robbed, and their response was to offer a 25% discount to anyone who comes in and shows a concealed carry permit. No more robberies...

There's nothing sinister about a balanced breakfast.

Ooooh, delicious!

I just this evening discovered Stephen & Seagulls. They are a bluegrass band that does nice covers of some pretty hard music. Just listened to them do Aces High by Iron Maiden. Man that brings back memories .
Sorry, y'all! I left him unattended for the weekend - and this is what happened.

Nasty hot and humid here. They'll be dropping like flies at the airport today. They always do.

My buddy took a nice shot of the Milky Way up the mountain the other day.
Very cool! Sometimes what we find right in front of us is much cooler than the TV.

I spent the weekend at Goshen Scout Reservation, near Lexington, VA. Far enough away from anything that light pollution is really not an issue... When it was clear, the night sky was breathtaking. Milky Way running straight up overhead...

One of the people I was camping with brought a rather nice telescope; looked at Mars, the Dumbbell Nebula, a ring nebula, and Andromeda among other things as clouds permitted.

But one of my favorite things to look at in the night sky is the Pleiades, through a low power telescope or field glasses. Google Image Result for http://en.es-static.us/upl/2014/11/pleiades-Greg-Hogsn-10-31-2016-e1478047327110.jpg

3 more days until I leave for India. 9.5 hours time difference. Somehow, it's the .5 that bugs me.
haha... across AU we have 3 timezones and each has 1.5h difference

Nasty hot and humid here today to...and this is upstate NY
I am longing for 'nasty' hot summer, humid not necessarily.
I've got enough of windy-rainy winter, but spring is coming, yay :D

.. just thought I'd jump in and post, no reason in particular....

What..? No, nooooo it's got nothing to do with the thread creeping up to 10,000 posts oh goodness noooo..... just had the urge! Really!

But seriously XD (wouldn't dream of stealing the Last Post title, you guys deserve it!)

Tonight and for the next few weeks the main instructor is away for a few weeks so me and the other fellow who helps out in the kid's classes will be running the class by ourselves.

Was a bit nervous, but tonight went really really well, it always does ;). A few mental blanks but I think we did really well with taking class.

But had a heart-warming moment... one of the girls was almost in tears while I was taking them through some combos. I went up and asked what was wrong and she had a really bad headache. Asked if she wanted to take a seat for a bit and she did.

Later we were taking some kids through some sparring just a few groups at a time, and she came back to sit down with the others. Went up and asked if she wanted to do any sparring, and she nodded and said yes, and she did two rounds, her face beaming with smiles.

Just was so nice to see, even though she wasn't feeling great she still got up and jumped in there. Had to go up and say to her I was so very proud of her. It really warmed my heart, I really get so much out of the kid's classes.
