Good first day.

Jacob won 1st in both Ippon sparring (1 point) and Continuous Sparring in the 13-17 Advanced Male Division.

Pretty proud since he just turned 13 in June.

He also earned a bloody nose in the first continuous sparring match but was able to fight on with his nose packed with tissue

Spent the morning doing push hands with 1 guy a little older than me and 2 guys younger than me and we had a blast, but we worked hard to get the hang of it and get it right.

I spent the afternoon doing push hands with a guy close to 80 who controlled me and threw me around like a rag doll

Grasshopper!

Had some time this afternoon for the the team to go bowling after competing.

Amazing how they can be so great at karate and so bad at bowling

That’s because...bowling pins don’t hit back.

I just this evening discovered Stephen & Seagulls. They are a bluegrass band that does nice covers of some pretty hard music. Just listened to them do Aces High by Iron Maiden. Man that brings back memories .

But do you think he really taught Anderson Silva how to front kick?
