Glad to hear all is well. Did some of the chickens blow away, at least?

There wasn’t even enough wind to ruffle a chick’s feathers. Pussy storm, thankfully.

I sit here at work, babysitting up at the gates. I am simultaneously watching a live webinar with Rickson, I think from California, and I’m asking questions. At the same time I’m texting with three friends from rural Maine, California and Florida.

What a marvelous world we live in. It’s magic.

our 'Japanese' place had a chinese lady waiting tables, and a guy from Micronesia cooking....
Don't care, the food is good!
And the Sushi!

Then per Mrs Xue, it is not Japanese....its Micronesian. She judges all east asian restaurants based on where the chef is from, not so much where the cuisine is from....We were at a rather delicious Japanese restaurant in Toronto...but she insisted it was Chinese because everyone working there was Chinese...so...Chinese restaurant.....:D

2nd interview done. It's out of my hands now. I expect to know by end of week, one way or the other.
We'll be rooting for you. Call them and tell them to give you the job, or an assortment of worn-out martial artists are coming over there to "practice".

There os a pho restaurant in almost every strip mall in my town. Not an exaggeration. They are usually within two doors of a teriyaki restaurant. I read recently that there are more pho places than Starbucks in seattle.
We discovered pho in the best possible way. I took @gpseymour to Rochester, NY for our wedding anniversary trip last year - it's my old stomping ground, the first city where I lived when I first came to the US. It was November, and there was this little pho place on the corner within walking distance from the B&B where we were staying. We went there on a perfectly miserable, cold, misty evening - a great time to have pho. It was excellent.

Yep, that was the best intro. I'd love to have a place like that nearby. BTW, I wonder if the noodle shop in Asheville has started offering pho?

Everyone else, just ignore the family discussion on the public forum. None of your business. :p

So if I were to make Sushi, it'll be German?

That's just not right. There is no such thing as German sushi. Just like there is no Japanese borshch or Mexican lo mein.

Actually, she has never questioned any European of American food as to what it is based on the Chef. This only seems to apply to East Asian restaurants; Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. If there is a Chinese chef....its Chinese food. She is also not militant about it and will not change that view after many years of marriage...so we (kids and I) tend to laugh at it....
