That's really cool. Not fun, per se, but it can be very rewarding. Someone you know personally, or as part of a volunteer program?

Very extended family......not sure if I would use the word rewarding.....sad, honestly would be a better description.....sad for the person who lived like this, sad for the relatives who now have to deal with it

Sorry, man. Sounds like a tough situation.

On a day off. Had a nice morning stretch and pushup workout, now I'm having breakfast. And breakfast being the most important meal of the morning, I'm having Beef Bourguignon, mashed potatoes and ice cold Bikini Blonde lager.

Have to work on the what's for lunch thing. Somehow it needs to include ice cream.

Enjoy your day off...... and the Ice cream bit is easy...you live in Hawaii, its hot there...you need to cool down....besides....you have volcanos there and I believe Pele the Fire Goddess DEMANDS you have ice cream.....

Neighbors surprised us with tickets to see Hamilton in February. I'm really looking forward to it.

Hired some guy to create cover art for some short stories I am going to post on Amazon.

I don't know if there are any writers here, but were you aware you can do this? Yes! Long gone are the days of hoping some magazine editor will recognize your genius! Now you can even post SHORT STORIES for sale on Amazon!

I commissioned the guy to create artwork for a story I wrote called "Slackers from the Stars," which actually saw print in a magazine called Nova Science Fiction back when I was still married. First story I was ever paid for!

Anyway, after paying him to draw this artwork, I looked for the story on my computer...and found it was gone! Luckily, I know where the Nova SF issue is so I can simply type it up again.

One final update before I go: I got my East Garage parking pass. That means no more relying on the shuttle! Woo hoo!

I applied for that when they were building it.... I was 59th on the list. Then after it was built I watched my name go from 59th to 80th, to 174th to 192nd then 295th.....then it went to 293 1nd at last check it went to 291...and then to 311th.... I watched it for awhile and I figured, at the rate I was going, I would have a space about 3 years after I retired...and then...mysteriously...my name vanished from the list.

Used to write professionally, haven't in a long time. Might get back to it.

Can't really wrap my mind around someone buying short stories on Amazon. There's an actual market for that?
