JCVD

Wonderful, and the people posting from those places are getting their information from who knows where?.

I'm half expecting to hear shortly that China invented boxing, and Russia wrestling.

I'm only half kidding.
Wikipedia is not the only place on the internet to get information. It's not even the only reliable place. It's just convenient

He has multiple WAKO competition wins, and others, throughout the late 70s and 80s.

Again, I have to wonder what information you don't have access too because at least according to JCVDs Wikipedia page, he's been part of quite a few legit martial arts associations.

If you want to see the detailed breakdown of his fight record, I would be happy to screenshot it for you. Here's a summary.
I followed the links from Wikipedia. It looks like JCVD’s point-fighting record is pretty well substantiated, but the evidence for his kickboxing career is slim at best.

Yes, so that’s why I asked if there could be linked the source index that the Wikipedia info draw from, there must be such references?(who writes the info on the Wikipedia?)
As you mention WAKO, I can easily access their webpage, but any JCVD I can’t find on there, maybe it’s just he/his name has great trouble to access through the great firewall ?

His record is pretty well substantiatiated.

Since you're subject to Communist censorship, I'm afraid you have worse than "great trouble"

Sorry friend. "easily access" is not your situation.

How do you figure?

We were just told WAKO was the test. And JCVD has at least 4 WAKO victories. That's not enough for you?

I'm starting to wonder why the goal posts here keep moving.

JCVD has a proven fight record. Full, light, semi, whatever. Are we really going to debate this?

You know what? This whole thread was a big troll, wasn't it. Great job.

Your confusion is my point lol. I am equally confused by the statement I responded to.
JCVD's amateur fighting and kickboxing record isn't up for debate. It's well established, and I doubt anyone else here has a better record.

Wikipedia is a reputable source. The fact that it's banned by dictatorial governments is a testament to that.

People admitting to posting from inside Communist China are not reputable. Whatever the subject.

Do you disagree?

On “tapology” theres a fight record of JCVD having a 6 wins/1 loss, looking into his opponent’s fight record on that webpage they seem to have only fought JCVD.

One webpage writes JCVD was on the winning Belgian team at the 1979 European karate championship it says the championship was held in December in Brussels of that year, but the WUKO European championship was actually held in May in Helsinki, the Dutch team was the team event winners.

But maybe it meant he was competing in the 1979 European WAKO championship, so let’s see -

https://wiki-gateway.eudic.net/wikipedia_en/W.A.K.O._European_Championships_1979.html

Yes he’s listed on that page as a kickboxer, but neither he or the Belgian team are on the list is winners or medalists, that tournament was held in Milan Italy……..

There’s some other things, such as it says he began karate(Shotokan) at either age 10, 11 or 12 depending on webpage one read, it says he became a member of Belgian national team after four years of training, but other info say it took him eight years to reach shodan(1st degree black belt), that is of course possible but info seems somewhat strange..

Van Varenberg’s keep on a mystery tale…..

Communist ! Hey, Camille Van Varenberg got his break as a Soviet Russian Kickboxer
