Ethical Does Not Mean Less DEAD

Maybe we should treat children the same way in adoption centers. Those that get put into a home, great for them. Those that don't, well, let's just shoot them, because we all know they will end up being degerates of society anyway, and will probably wind up dead after being put on the welfare system for the rest of us to pay for.

Yeah, that makes total sense.

Ironically, this is a quite PETA like moral equivalence.

I love PETA, because they're sensational... some times, and as long as they have protests like these.

However, from a political and lifestyle point of view, I think they're nuts.

Bacon tastes good. It's a universal truth.

I perfer ham.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal!
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

PETA is and has always been duplicitous, venal, money-grubbing and publicity-obsessed. The good things they promote - and there is a few - are always ploys for a greater agenda. Scratch the surface and you'll find a philosophy that is quite a few steps more radical than most of their casual supporters would tolerate. It's anti-science and anti-human, tolerant of political terrorism.

Different parts of the same animal that taste different. I just perfer ham.

Thanks for the laughs, folks. It really helped brighten up this morning.

Still, though, we should stick with the original topic. :)

right you are, my apologies.

so, do you think they could adopt out more animals if they taped bacon to them?

the survey says 'yes'.

Kinda brings a question to mind..

I know PETA is famous for protesting other products and events, but has anyone ever protested PETA events? I'm not sure if it's ever been done or not...I'm sure it has somewhere.

I just think it would be awesome to let a whole bunch of animals loose from the pound in their HQ. See how "humane" they really are...

Hm. Can't force people to adopt animals.
In contrast, and from the same article:

According to Virginia's Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), the average euthanasia rate for humane societies in the state was just 34.7 percent in 2006.

PETA really does do a terrible job.
