This video is about a petition drive to ban conservatives from being on the radio. It is a fake petition that the individuals at this institution of higher learning just can't wait to sign. I guess that whole free speech thing was never covered in any of their classes. Hmmmm...I wonder how they voted in the last election cycle?

http://www.breitbart.tv/exposing-th...ony-petition-to-ban-conservatives-from-radio/

I think what would have made the video even more special is if the petition guys had offered a complimentary red or brown shirt to the people who signed the petition.

If you check out the website of this group they are kind enough to give the raw video of their attempt to get students to redistribute their GPA in order to help poorer performing students. that video was the subject of an earlier thread here on the study. The same people who want to redistribute other peoples actual hard earned income, refuse to redistribute their grades to help other students, and yet see no problem with their position. Hopefully in the future we will get the raw video of this little expose.

More Brietbart nonsense, so no telling how the video has been edited. Even if it is not, the title of the thread is deceiving because these people aren't the actual college. The college would not ban a conservative radio station, if nothing else because it is bad publicity.

"your colleges at work" is more to point out that these individuals are supposed to be recieving an education, that at a minimum should be teaching the defense of the first ammendment. They are failing miserably at that, if they are even teaching it to begin with. If you notice from the video, the people passing around the petition ask each person if they support the freedom of speech, or if the support the 1st ammendment, and of course they all agree...as they are signing the petition to end free speech for conservatives. That is the point of the title of the thread. Thank you.

Oddly enough, this was not covered at all in any of my mathematics, physics, or engineering classes. Nor was it covered in the humanities classes that I took as electives as an undergrad. Nor was it covered in religious studies.

"They are failing miserably at that, if they are even teaching it to begin with.

And why would they teach it to physics students, or engineering students, or medical students?

The petition itself is a form of free speech:telling others to have a nice warm cup of STFU.

the point of the title of the thread
people passing around the petition
failing miserably

That explains a lot elder.

Oh, for goodness sakes.

I would never sign such a petition.

I would simply do as I do now: not listen to such garbage.

I did WATCH IT, the last time he posted it.

I read it, too:

Also, to be fair, this video contains several edits. We know that there are some cracker-jack websites on the left and the "right" who hold the TRUTH up as their highest standard. Surely they will discover that some of the students who were approached DIDN'T sign the petition. And, you know, that will change EVERYTHING.

wasnt talking to you Jeff, between the time i hit "reply" and "submit" you posted, i was talking to WC

Seen it before, didn't need to watch the garbage a second time. Thanks. It is just more plain old attacks on the left (or percieved left) by any means neccessary, the complete truth does not need apply. Our of curiousity, how many of the students asked did not sign the petition? More or less than those shown in the video? We'll never know because that wasn't the point of the video. According to the video and Brietbartbart's site anyone who isn't right wing conservative just doesn't understand the constitution and is actively trying to destroy American's rights. It is nonsense.

If the title of this thread had been something like "People Interviewed Don't Understand 1st Amendment Rights" or "Some College Students Want to Restrict Right Wing Radio's Rights" then that would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead it is just another attack, with no real interest in real information or jouranlism, just pushing a political agenda. At least be honest about it.

Wasn't covered in any of my classes either, and I'm (still) finishing up degree #2.

Banning Conservatives, a good idea for trying to keep people in work:

From The Socialist newspaper, 12 May 2010
Anti-Tory mood dominated in Stoke

"Tonight I thought I was coming to an academic debate about the miners' strike. I didn't realise the burning hatred that is still felt in this area for what Thatcher and the Tories did". These were the words of film director Ken Loach, speaking at a recent public debate in Stoke-on-Trent."

The Tories have killed more British cities and devastated more British industries than the Nazi's did - pretty good reason for banning Conservative thought around the globe don't you reckon?

What's that you say? You're not interested in rabid partisan British politics on a Martial Arts site? Well I never ...

Actually...I am. Call me strange, but hearing the different opinions without the baggage of familiar names and affiliations is oddly refreshing

i didnt say you did,

you sure do like to be insulting and rude. And think about this: if I think you are rude, ME?? thats some seriously rude **** right there.

I said "dont get pissy because your people get busted."

nowhere does that say you agree with them.

Now, you wanna back up, admitt you were wrong like a grown up? or just go on being wrong and making stuff up?

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between...

1) Signing a petition to ban the expression of an opinion that disagrees with your political point of view

and

2) Producing a survey video and editing out responses that don't align with the results you hoped to prove?

Seems like both are just different ways to stifle the voices of those you don't want to hear from.

Go to their site and you'll see the raw footage of their past videos. Also, I have to wonder, for the people who actually signed that petition, how many of them were Obama voters...Hmmmm?

I would like to see a video of conservatives petitioned to take the liberal hosts off the air, I bet there won't be as many takers on that end. It is a different belief system.
