Anyone ever met someone who only trains forms and basics?

Have this ever happened to you? Your opponent throws a punch. You also throw a punch. Your fist and your opponent's fist meet face to face.

This has happened to me once.

This happened about 6 or 7 times within the same sparring session. It's one of the things that I wished I had recorded because it was crazy. We weren't trying to punch each other's fist, We were just punching through the same path at the same time. By far that's the craziest thing I've experienced in sparring.

It happened again with a different person from the same school. But I got injured on that. The punch broke my finger that has the hollow bone. That was a painful one. I knew it broke the moment his fist hit my finger, and I heard the snap. I stopped at once and stopped for the day and was done for the next 2 months in terms of sparring.

Both cases were with the gloves off.
