WTF has finally decided positively about the use of electronic protectors at the World Championships in Copenhagen in October. After a long evaluation the Special Ad Hoc Committee for electronic protectors of WTF has given its OK on June 12th in Baku, where the Taekwondo World Team Championships were staged, using LaJust protectors.

After this, there were hard negotiations with LaJust about the contract with WTF which have finally been successfully finished. On June 26th WTF Secretary General Yang has sent an official information to National Federations regarding the use of LaJust electronic protectors in Copenhagen.
Despite the fact that there is some fierce competition with other producing companies, most people think that WTF took a step into the right direction when turning to the electronic future.

They also already used them at this past US Open and the Pan Am games. However this does not mean that they will be the offical hogus. Just being used for the WC is all. They are still evaluating them. Plus Korea is now using another brand and it will be Korea that determins what will be used in the end.

Just like Korea used the new rules first and the new ring size first. It is Korea that tests and sets the trends first.

You mean whoever pays the most money to the WTF will determine what will be used....
