Hi peeps,
I would like to ask for some advice on a Martial Art. Now I knowthis may well be a case of how long is a piece of string, but for me it is aquestion of middle age. The problem I have is that I have never specialised ina Martial Art (classic or other interpretation) throughout my teens and early 30s(there was life blip after) and just really tried other disciplines to see whatworked along with what I had already had. I am versed in boxing and kick boxingas a core, but did do thai boxing briefly, but certain life issues at the timeprecluded me from doing that and many things.
Now, I have an impending 43[SUP]rd[/SUP] birthday coming upand I want to earn the right to call myself a martial artist, but I do not knowwhat to consider. I have a feeling for B/KB obviously but whatever else isstill evading me at this point. When I was at school, the most common artsavailable that I can remember were boxing and judo. Tried both but did not feeljudo. My late teens took in TKD and Shotokan. Could not get on with those. Thingscame to an abrupt halt in my late twenties, but now I am on a mission of lifeas I have dubbed it. In the past 2, 3 or 4 or whatever it is, I have tried WingChun twice, but it is not for me. Hopefully some of you experts could maybegive me some tips.
My strong points are having quick hands and reactions, plusmy situational awareness a key point. I have good feet as well and used to bequite quick from foot to foot. You would think that Wing Chun would havesuited, but that stance was just not my friend. Anyway, thanks for reading andif any of you can help, it would be appreciated. Thanks.
