If you see it coming, like you see him loading up and telegraph the fact he's about to throw. And you see the signs of sucker punching tactics. Just eye jab him in the eye, flick his eye. Then when he covers his face kick him in the groin. That's one of the ways I know.
So many ways to handle the rear hand heymaker. One way is to cover up with your left and move in with a right upward or straight elbow to the chin. After the elbow connects (hopefully), the right hand grabs the shoulder/neck and pulls in for the right knee. The right hand then reaches around neck for a reverse neck crank. Try it, it’s fun!

I tend to move inside circular attacks be it a haymaker or a ball bat. There is a lot less kinetic force inside on those so even if it hits you it should do less harm.
