A flashy move...in real combat?! Try a flash grenade. Maybe a better title for this thread would have been, "What's the dumbest thing you have done in a self-defense situation (and lived to tell the tale)". Flashy sh** will get you killed. Keep it simple and to the point.
As far as the dumbest thing that I have personally done, let's just say that I was not paying close enough attention to my surroundings and wound up being somewhere I should not have been (especially by myself).

Real combat, eh? I managed to sew the patches and tags on my DCUs without spilling a drop of my own blood. The desert sun hitting the needle just right was a little flashy.
