We don't know that if the fight was fixed. Tyson wasn't there to KO Paul. He was there to get his $20 million. In the ring after the fight, Tyson was talking about a rematch or fighting Jake's brother Logan.

This fight doesn't prove who can beat who, age or martial arts. The question is how long is the public willing to pay for these types of fights (e.g., WWE)?

I worry Tyson is trying to recapture his glory days and give himself a sense of purpose, but age-related physical limits prevent that. That’s the problem with basing your feelings of self worth on anything physical. Boxers get old, slower and fatter. Football players become slower and fatter. Olympic rowers become weaker and fatter….

This fight doesn't prove who can beat who, age or martial arts. The question is how long is the public willing to pay for these types of fights?

I have a feeling nobody will pay to see Tyson fight again. I certainly wouldn’t.

got to watch the fight live after the movie ended. Like most, I was a little disappointed but not really surprised.

That said, while Tyson did not look like an elite level boxer, he did look pretty great for a 58 year old dude. Good for him. And now he has $20 million to retire on.

I thought the fight was great. Tyson is still an amazing fighter at 58, Paul is a great boxer at 26.

Why would he try to intentionally hurt his business partner? Tyson was making one million, two hundred and fifty thousand dollars per minute. Paul exactly twice that.

I think the fight was exactly what people should have known it would be. A has-been facing a never-was. Lots of hype, not much substance.

What we really wanted was to see a ‘has-been’ place an opponent into a bloodstained, scream-filled orbit with his fists. We could arrange this easily and very cheaply whilst solve one of our great social problem; pitch Tyson against a long term resident of a nursing home. We are probably guaranteed the violence we crave (I say probably because some of those grannies are pretty tough) and the intractable problem of society having to pay for long term nursing care of the elderly is slowly solved.

Adjusted for age, Tyson won. Mostly by humbling Jake Paul.

The whole card was great. Serrano was robbed. Barrios vs Ramos was one of the best fights I've ever witnessed.

I watch it. I was part of the millions that crashed Netflix servers lol.

I was amazed that Netflix had me glued to the tv for 4 hours. The first match was disappointing. The other matches were good. Including the Jake Paul and Tyson fight.

Jake Paul still respected Tyson's power regardless of if Tyson could still use it. That was the first good thing to see. The second good thing was how the fight ended with a lot of respect. Jake Paul didn't turn up the heat more than what was needed. It reminded me of teaching martial arts. I only put as much pressure as students are able to handle.

The third person was at the end with a bow. Everyone wanted to see if Tyson still had something in the gas tank and most were torn between Tyson's age and his skill. They wanted to see him perform without it being a Young Guy beats old man fight. Jake Paul won the fight, but he didn't beat Tyson like he could have done.

I really don't think most people want to see a 58 year old get beaten in the head by a younger person. That image just doesn't sit well with many society norms and it definitely doesn't sit well with the majority of those who train boxing or any other type of hand-to-hand combat system. Most didn't mind Tyson losing as long as he wasn't beaten. Jake Paul said it nicely "I didn't want someone who didn't need to be hurt."

Jake Paul won the fight and won it in a way that didn't make him look like he was beating up on an old man. Mike Tyson lost the fight but didn't lose his reputation of being a great boxer. He didn't lose face.

Do I think Tyson could have done better? Yes.
I think his slow movement were due to injuries. There are thousands of 60 year old people who have better mobility than what he had. Tyson has better movement than what he had but when you are in pain, you are in pain.

Knee Injuries at the age of 58 isn't same as a knee injury at 20, But at that point the show must go on. Lots of money riding on the match.

Which is the right thing to do in general but specifically for a fight like this. Everyone got what they wanted out of this fight. Mike was just unfortunate to have a knee injury at the age of 58.

All the fights were respectful except the first one. All of the fans enjoyed the fights, except for the first one. There's more honor in boxing than what people think. yeah you get a couple of bad apples but they are the exception and not the norm.

What a lacklustre fight. Tyson lacked vigour and never really moved forward to attack like he used to. In the past, his tactic was to overwhelm his opponent, pushing him back, back, back then -KAPOWZEROONY! - uppercut to oblivion! But Tyson appeared detached from the action, keeping back and never getting in.

He can only do what his body will allow him to do. I actually think that was the negative side of his training. He was training a Young Tyson and not a 58 year old Tyson.

Tyson. Paul spent 90% of his winner’s interview, praising Tyson Tyson seemed a bit bewildered during his interview.

Because he never received that level of recognition before. It'll make sense to him in a few days after he has a chance to unwind.

I do wonder if Tyson’s brand might be damaged by this outcome. I’m no longer going to order any Tyson-branded merchandise, after all.

I think it only looked like that because of the injury. Old bodies don't handle injuries very well. Name one fight Mike Tyson has ever thrown. Mike Tyson is a boxer and that's what he likes doing. Same way old folks in here do martial arts. And the last time I checked the Old folks in this forum take their martial arts seriously.
